hi everyone! i'm holli. i took boards on june 13th and passed with 75 questions. i am starting work on july 18th at the only hospital i ever wanted to work for. it is a great pediatric facility! i will be on the (post-op) surgical floor, and we also have all of the endocrine kids. also, they just added an epilepsy monitoring unit, for overnight monitoring and for the brain mapping they are doing. i expressed an interest in that, so they will cross-train me in that unit as well. i can't wait to get started!
so, tell me about you...
holli, rn
Hey :) I'm Clay and I graduated from an ADN program on May 9th. I have NCLEX scheduled for 7/2 and wish I could take it sooner. I'm currently working on my temporary RN license in a level II NICU.
I finished up orientation friday and hit the floor with my preceptor this week working 12's - 7A-7P for now - swaps to 7P in a couple of months.
Working on NRP and PALS certs right now. Probably going to add on ACLS and ALSO if the manager allows it. :)
Hi everyone. I'm Kristin. I just graduated from a BSN program in May and got a job at the Children's Hospital here in town. I will be working on an intermediate care unit. I notice some different terminology from reading posts here. I did a preceptorship (part of nursing school) my last semester on this floor and I think that's the main reason I got the job. I'll be working with a mentor (what some call a preceptor) for about 3 months until I am on my own. I started orientation last week and still have another week to go.
I took the NCLEX this morning and am now a nervous wreck waiting to get my results. :) Wish me luck!
Hello everyone. I am a nursing student, but I figured I would post in order to get some advice from all of you that are beginning your careers.( Congratulation!) I begin clinicals in january, starting with an adult care center, followed by a psych ward, pediatric hospital, and then a general hospital. I am a little nervous about everything, but I am passionate about medicine and enjoy helping others. If any of you have advice for me I would appreciate hearing it. Thanks!

Hi, I'm Christine I graduated May 23rd and haven't taken my boards yet. Heh, no money to register for it yet, though I do have my provisional license as an RNA. I have no job lined up as of yet and that has me worried. I really want to work NICU and hope like heck I can get a job in one, and at this point I almost don't care where LOL. Ok thats not true, I do care where.
Congrats on everyone who has passed boards so far. I hope to register and get my ATT next month, and test by August. Even though study wise, I feel like I've forgotten more than I knew.
