Lehman College 2018 Fall Generic BSN/ABSN applicants!

Published

Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!

I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!

For the people who haven't taken it HIN 269: When do you plan on taking it? I'm debating on if I should take it next month, during the fall or during the winter break. They all have their pros and cons.

Also, does anyone know when the nursing department will have its next advisement session?

Are you in the generic or Accelerated program? If you are in the accelerated I would advice to take it in the summer, otherwise you will have to take it in the short winter semester with another class. If you are in generic you can take it in the Fall or the winter session. I am in the accelerated and taking HIN 269 currently. We have a sweet professor. Dr. Maldonado, the class is doable in the summer

, but you have to give considerable amount of time

Got my email today for the generic program!!! I was hoping for the accelerated but I'm totally fine with this!

One thing I noticed in the email is that it said something about receiving a program packet by June 15th after you accept the offer. I'm pretty sure they forgot to change the email template which makes me think that this is a 2nd round of offers being sent out. Because of the length of time between email blasts, it seems like they wait to see how many accept/decline the offers in the 1st and then go to the next set of candidates. They'll probably do this until all spots are filled but who really knows. They should just let you know you're on a waiting list and go from there. That way people have at least SOME idea of their chances instead of this crazy stressful process of not knowing anything. In the past week, I spent close to $100 in application/transcript fees applying to other colleges, wrote some personal essays and asked for teacher recommendations only to get my Lehman email today. SMH. Of course, I'm happy I got in but I would have had less sleepless nights knowing I was at least on a waiting list. lol

My stats:

GPA 3.76

CT 880

A&P 92

Math 96

Reading Comp 96

Cumulative GPA - no idea as I'm 2nd degree

Congratulations on getting in the program. Accelerated is very competitive, I know in 2016 they closed at 3.8 and 2017 3.7(heard from past students), probably this year there were many applicant.

Have you guys finished both your LEH courses ? Im taking only one right now debating on taking another as well. or just doing my second one in the winter session.

Hello, it the first time commenting here, but I'm so anxious waiting about the response. I know I'm in the limits of the gpa(3.51) in my science courses and 3.6 overall, I passed all the sections on the HESI with 82.5% overall and 800 ct. I keep going to the nursing office but they don't say nothing concrete. Do I have any chance to be accepted to the generic? I have heard students been accepted with 3.52 gpa

The only other thing I can think of that may have affected the order of people hearing back from Lehman was maybe the date of when each person handed in their applications? Maybe those who submitted their applications earlier were looked at earlier?

My friend and I submitted our apps the same day and same time - I got accepted before she did. However they decided to accept people remains a mystery lol

Yeah I figured it out but thank you for responding I appreciate it! 😊

Hey! For some reason, I haven't been getting updates about this page. If you haven't already figured it out, when you go to the castle branch site, you click on place order. It'll ask you for the school code which is in the orientation packet. You'll be prompted to create a username and password and from there on the directions will walk you through the payment options and all that.

Thank you for responding I appreciate it! 😊

Hi Ella94, I am in the same situation, crossing fingers.

You should call if you don't hear anything from them by the end of this week.

The last day!

Should the uniform top have the Lehman logo on it? I got mine today and it doesn't have any logo on it, I thought it would.
