It went from the beginning of June to June 15th to June 30th and now another rumor of July 15th. I'm frustrated and have a right to be.

Where did you hear about this?

I hope you guys hear back soon. Good luck!

It may not be my place, but I want to say that I feel for many of you. You 100% have a right to be mad. I would be too. It's very nerve-wracking to wait for your results when everyone else you know has already gotten them. You spent time and money trying to get into this program. The least they could do is keep you updated.

As a nurse, positivity is great but you also need to be very realistic. You can't give your patients false-reassurance. You can't tell them "things will be better, stay positive" when they might not be. As a nurse, you will be dealing with a bunch of rude and negative patients. Telling them to be positive when they're ranting and venting is invalidating and not therapeutic communication. Let's extend that respect to your colleagues. They picked Lehman as their #1 choice, but the department is acting like they do not matter. Lehman's nursing department has already shown you guys who they truly are. Manifest what you want, but be realistic too. As I said before, this is the tip of the iceberg. Your colleagues pointed out that it isn't just Lehman who is going through the pandemic; we all are. There really isn't any excuse for what they're doing. You can't really blame the pandemic anyway. They acted like this before COVID hit. Also, be very careful about correcting other people's beliefs. Some of you will slip up and sneak your own beliefs into a conversation with a patient. It's a big no.

The one thing I will agree on is using distractors. Play a game, chat with a friend, watch a movie, etc. Just try to take your mind off of this. You don't want to be severely stressed out. It's hard, I know. But try, it may help you feel better.

Thank you for this! Everything you said is absolutely correct and I respect your perspective especially as someone who has gone through it. I cannot imagine how difficult it was for you but you made it! Congratulations and best of luck

I haven’t gotten anything either. But there’s a zoom meeting this Saturday with the advisors from 10-2 if you want to ask them any questions.

Hey does anyone know the meeting ID for this? I want to see if maybe they'll offer some support tomorrow morning during this, thank you!

****Sorry I looked it up, ignore the previous question:

for those interested I attached the pdf file!

Using-Zoom-for-Advisements.pdf

You can go on Lehman college department of nursing website and at the top of the page you’ll see dates for zoom meetings, click on that and y’all see the meeting ID along with the other available dates

I 100% agree with this. The LEAST the department can do is issue out an email apologizing for the delay. I understand it can be frustrating for them to constantly repeat themselves to students, but I think it would be pretty logical for them to put an announcement on their website updating everyone on what’s going on. It would save them a lot of time.

Honestly, and then they complain that we’re listening to other students’ rumors about what’s happening, but if that’s what we have to go off of what do they expect! They could clear every rumor up with just ONE email, but ??‍♀️

I just spoke to the head of the department, they decided to accept students and the bulk of the emails will be sent out on Monday and Tuesday. Best of luck everyone.
