Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Any one accepted with 3.57 (3.6) science GPA? To lehman im finishing up my first degree and want to do the accelerated/generic program for fall 2019.

I got a B in AP2

A in AP1

CHEM114/115 B and B-; I transferred in with these and seeing the science classes at Lehman are much easier :(

Im aiming for A's in Micro and chem120/121

And to score high on the HESI, im already studying

This summer i completed 4 classes on top of AP2 receiving a A and a 3.9 gpa cumulative i would hope my determination and record will help, im a little nervous about applying next year

THANK YOU

Also, those applying to Lehman ABSN, the program now is 15 months, and unlike previously, the start date is early June, so all of the pre-reqs must be completed by spring semester of the summer start date.

Any tips for studying Organic chemistry. What did you find the most helpful?

Hi,

I have a really pressing question regarding admission to Lehman's program. The Nursing Department's site states that the HESI A2 can only be taken once, yet I believe that the undergrad. advisor mentioned to me in a previous conversation that a retake is possible for students who scored low in a particular area. Does anyone know if the exam can be taken again? If so, how do you go about scheduling a retake, since parametric doesn't show anymore available tests for Lehman.

you can retake the hesi using the code for Texas A&M corpus christi just gooogle it it should come up

Does anyone use a clinical bag? Or, do students take their regular book bags to clinicals? What are a must to have in your bag for clinicals?

Hospitals are a dirty place. You don’t want what you carry in the hospital into your home. With that being said most female students use two bags. I personally use two bags becuase then I wil never forget stuff. Everything I need for clinicals will always be in one bag. And I leave it near my door and wipe it dow when I get home. Some people use the same bag but honestly then you have to take stuff out and put stuff in and you may forget something.

Also so be mindful that there are no lockers at clinical you may not have an area to put your stuff. So only bring what’s essential. The folding nursing clipboard on amazon is great to bring with you becuase you can hold a patiebts chart, paparr and an assignment due. Also don’t forget about your lunch

A must have for clinicals is a notebook, or the folding nursing board from amazon. A pen (lots of pensssssss) and make sure you wipe down your pens before you get home or wipe them down and leave them in your clinical bag.

TX compression socks -amazon

part of nursing uniform is all white leather shoes, lots of my classmates bought those ugly nurse mates shoes. I bought all white leather VANS from the VANS website and they are great. Pluse they are the same price as the nurse mates shoes and you can wear them outside of clinical. It’s a win win.

Bring lunch and a snack or have enough money in your bank account to spend easily 15 dollars that day.

Always have your hospital ID, Lehman ID and Nursing name pin.

Clinical Companion for Medical-Surgical Nursing Concepts For Interprofessional Collaborative Care 9th edition by Ignatavicus. -life saver for when you get asked what’s the patients condition and what should you do. Will also help you with care plans, patho and med surg.

Davis drug guide app-books are updated every year with new drugs and discontinued drugs the app is the same price as the book and and it is easier to look up a drug while your on the floor. Your not going to be looking through a huge book on the floor.

Hi , I noticed that this thread is less active than the previous years. I think everyone who applied this semester (spring 2019) - for the Fall 2019 Lehman program should put their stats. I heard accelerated students were accepted already and they gave out rejection letters to those who failed the HESI ( both generic and accelerated). Generic students will not receive any letters until early June. If you have been accepted or do hear any news please update the rest of us. Lets all stay connected . Im going to create a template so we can all just answer based on

You’re stats are solid, you’re def getting in

I’m curious, are our cumulative gpas used for acceptance? I’m being told the only things they look at is hesi and science gpa.

In order to be considered a pass for hesi you have to score above a 75% on each academic section and atleast 800 on critical thinking.
