Thinking about Becoming a Legal Nurse Consultant

Specialties Legal

Published

Having always had a passion for both medicine and law...I am giving serious thought about becoming a certified legal nurse consultant in independent practice.

I've done alot of research online, but would love some input from people who have no financial interest in whether I do this or not, if you know what I mean. :-)

Does anyone have any input, good or bad, about becoming a CLNC? Any suggestions?

TIA!

Best wishes,

Michelle

I appear to be in this same position...I have spent hours upon hours going over the information from the institute...but the same question resounds...Is it for real? or just making a bunch of money for someone else? My inner voice says this is it...but I have been known to jump in too quickly, so I am still considering...however, I think what makes this one unique is that it teaches you how to market yourself as well as giving you the technical education.

Good Luck!

thread moved to the legal nursing forum.

hello, rose,

i have received your pms and replied. also, please note my reply to you on another thread.

yes, the milazzo program is reputable. yes, it is an enterprising business and very successful. but, it is on the up and up. many rns, including myself, have been certified after completing this program. it is excellent and i have zero to gain from making this statement. i endorse this program as legitimate.

but, you are the only one who can make such a life-altering decision. become lnc through any program? if it is any consolation, i agonized over the same issues. finally, i made the decision that has changed my life.

good luck in whatever you decide.

I have also thought about the program through www.lnccenter.com. Much cheaper and only two days in the classroom and the rest at home. Or can do the web teleconferencing for the two day program, and still complete the course work at home.

Just a thought.

HI

I am reading every entry regarding legal nurse consulting. One teacher had mentioned this to a student in nursing ten years ago. Now I am looking at it and how difficult it could be to earn money right away especially where I live. UP NORTH> small community. How much would I have to travel to a large area?

Can anyone tell me the cost of the 6 day course?

or the 40 hour study at home program?

And what is covered?

Or the cost of the course at www.Inccenter.com?

I have business law years ago.

thank you,

M

Hello, mariee,:balloons:

I answered your first thread about the LNC career. I see you have already received formal training as LNC. Please answer here regarding what I wrote on the other thread.

Are you referring to the 6 day course through Vickie Milazzo?

ANd, you had a business in law? Please elaborate.

I look forward hearing from you.

Hi

I am also considering Vickie's program in fact I have already been approved by the program but for some reason I am having alot of troube finishing the process. I to have read and read and even called the institute and talked with an RN that has set up her business. My biggest problems is that I am older been in nursin longer than most of you have been on the earth but I took a chance in 2008 went back and got a masters that has not changed my life in anyway except paying a school note and working the ED as a staff on nights. I want this so bad but I to am so scared to spend more money and be floor nursing for life.

One thing the lady told me today was that you don't have to have that many lawyers 4 or 5 that have a good case load will be more than you can do. I am so torn. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a 6 year old thread. You might want to read through some of the newer threads for more information to help you make your decision.

The AANC, the ONLY National organization of Legal Nurse Consultants, that is approved by the Council that accredidates nursing programs.

It is very economically priced, you can take it in modules, and spread out the cost. It is an on line program, and I highly recommend it over the VM highly overpriced program.

As someone stated above, please search through these threads, and read what others have said about different programs, especially the VM program.
