Legacy RN Versant Residency Program Summer 2015

Published

Hi! I wanted to start a forum post about the Residency program for Legacy Hospitals in the PNW. Has anyone else heard back about their interviews?

I received an email yesterday about my interview on May 20th.

That's great! What have you heard of the process? From the past forums it sounds like it's really tough to get in, but I know they revamped the application process this year

I went through the initial interview last summer but didn't get a second interview, I have been working since then and am hoping this time will be better. The interview process is much different than last time from what the interview confirmation email stated. They have made quite a few changes which make me a little nervous.

To me, that sounds like a good thing. Do you think getting the first interview means more now? What differences do you see?

congrats on getting through again! I hope everything works out this time.

Everyone gets an initial interview as long as you met criteria and turned in all required documents. So first interview still doesn't mean much of anything. You used to schedule your interview time as opposed to it being assigned. Also before all you had was the one 15-20 minute interview and then you left. This round you have the one interview schedule and then have the remaining time in the hour to talk to all other nurse leader. This is the big change and the one that makes me nervous just because more people that I want to impress. It's also exciting that they made this change as it is an awesome chance to network and interview with staff from multiple facilities/units. Also they no longer have phone interviews for those out of the area.

I also got an interview for May 20th. I actually went to a career fair and talked to the Legacy nurse recruiter there. She talked about how it has changed (like mentioned above) and it seems you can interview with multiple departments after your 1st choice interview. I was told they hire about 1 in 10 people. I'm hoping maybe it will have a little less people than usual since out of state people can't phone interview? I'm sure some out of state people wouldn't want to fly to an interview that most people get invited to if they have the basic criteria.

I'm from NYC and i'm flying in. My boyfriend is from Portland and would really like to return home and I love Portland every time I visit.

I have an interview the 20th too! So nervous about the changes. This is my first time applying. I am already a legacy employee, but I am switching units... hoping I can get a job.. I wish they let you apply any where because I am really not that picky.

What time is your interviews at? I am at 315 I feel like they won't remember me.

I'm at 100. Don't know if it's good or bad or how much the time of day matters.

I am at 0815. Some people think that earlier is better as the interviewer will be more alert and as the day goes on the interviews muddle together making it harder to stand out. I don't think that in this case it has much effect if you interview well time of day doesn't matter. I would be curious to know how randomly (if at all) times were assigned to people though.

Well a girl in my program and I got scheduled for the same exact time. I applied towards the beginning of the application period and she applied near the end. But we did have the same 1st choice unit and our last names are nearby each other. So who knows? But it makes it pretty convenient for us since we'll be traveling up together.
