Hospital jobs are not the be all and end all. If you like your job, I would stay right where you are. $35 an hour for a newer nurse is really good!
If your goal is to become a pediatric NP, then what better place to work than what you are doing right now. Soak it all up. It will only help you in the long run.
If there is a chance your job is going away, yes, you should be looking. It sounds like you already know you are priced beyond market rate at this point, so you will both need to start adjusting your standard of living for a lower wage and start preparing to make sure any new potential employer knows you do not expect to make that kind of money anywhere else and that you are fine with that.

Hi, I've work in a pediatiric doctor's office right after I recieved my license (since last year).
Currently, I'm getting $35/hr + benefit. At first, this job offer was very attractive. My ultimate goal for my career was becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner; thus, starting from primary care setting was not a bad idea.
These days, I wishes to build my career from hospital setting, not doctors office.
I know I am compensated pretty well, but there is no improvment as career wise.
What do you think? should I still need to keep this job or seek for hospital job? Do I still have chance to get hired from hospital?
TIA
