Lcc roll call applying for 2014

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Hello! I will be applying for the traditional nursing program after this fall. wondering if anyone else out there is applying and what your story is?? I have a few more classes to take this fall, then i will be applying! so nervous !! Please add any info/comments :)

They calculated my GPA a the 3.5 bracket instead off 4.0. Also have classes in progress but it outlined that in the letter. Will have 142 with this semester.

Oh no Geeheeb! Did the letter say your point total could change after this semester? That might happen to me too because right now my GPA is in the 3.5 bracket, but after this semester (I'm retaking a class to bring up my GPA), it will be in the 4.0 bracket.

I haven't received my letter yet and it's been 3 weeks since I applied. I'm taking pharmacology and retaking sociology this semester.

I got it all straightened out. Did you get your letter? If not I'm sure they are waiting for you to finish pharm.

Graduated from LCC...TOP NOTCH NURSING SCHOOL. Very happy I went there!! The new system you speak of is not the same as the one I was under, but mine was just as competitive... They should consider adding twice the amount of students, faculty, and get people moving through the school. There is a reason for the difficulty in their Selective Admissions RN Program...they ARE likely the BEST in the State! Hope you all get into that program! Everyone I have met that didn't go there, WISH they could have. Good luck!

I finally got my letter, but it just says my point total is "N/A" because I'm still taking classes that I need to get in. They said my points won't be calculated until after spring semester. Anyone know when we find out? I'm assuming some time in June.

SICK OF WAITING

Agreed!!! I'm sorry to anyone taking spring classes right now... but its driving me crazy not knowing if I got in or not.

I got my MSU CON rejection letter today. Hopefully I don't get one from LCC.

I hope this helps. I was in your shoes last year. The cut off in 2013 was 136 and then it dropped to 128 because several people couldn't accept their seats (2 year & 3 year tracks).

I got in with 140 points and am now in my second semester of the program. 3.5 weeks and I'll be halfway done :)

We didn't get our acceptance letters until after April 22nd.

Also, they are changing the color of the nursing student uniforms. Our blue is now the same color as the PCTs at Sparrow. So, starting in Fall 2014, the nursing uniforms will be black. Those of us who already have blue will stay in blue.

Good luck to all of you! I spoke at the new nursing student orientation last semester. Hope to see you all in the fall :)

Thanks for the reply Kris! That makes me feel better.
