  1. Just found out today that I got accepted for the accelerated track!!!! I will be dropping from the 2 year program starting in the fall (that I was previously accepted for and confirmed my seat). Good luck to those of you on the alternate list!!
  2. I heard July from previous years, actually I think I read it on an old thread on this website. It was either last year or the year before, they found out in mid-July I think. So I just assumed it would be the same this year. But hopefully it's sooner! How many points did you have for the accelerated program?
  3. Just found out I got accepted into the 2 year starting in the fall!!! However, I'm still waiting to find out if I got into the accelerated program. Heard I won't find out until July. So for those of you on the alternate list, hopefully I get into the accelerated track because that's one more opening for you!!!!
  4. I finally got my letter, but it just says my point total is "N/A" because I'm still taking classes that I need to get in. They said my points won't be calculated until after spring semester. Anyone know when we find out? I'm assuming some time in June.
  5. I haven't received my letter yet and it's been 3 weeks since I applied. I'm taking pharmacology and retaking sociology this semester.
  6. Oh no Geeheeb! Did the letter say your point total could change after this semester? That might happen to me too because right now my GPA is in the 3.5 bracket, but after this semester (I'm retaking a class to bring up my GPA), it will be in the 4.0 bracket.
  7. How long after you applied did you receive your letter stating your points?
  8. I just applied to both the traditional 2 year and the accelerated program for 2014. I have 152 points for the 2 year, and 112 for the accelerated. The advisor told me I look competitive, but then she said "but you never know!". So who knows! I really want the accelerated program, but I applied to the 2 year just in case I don't get into the accelerated. Anyone else applying to the accelerated program at LCC in 2014?? I've never met anyone in any classes who is applying for accelerated. I'd love to know how many points others have. I think the cut off last year for the 2 year program was 141, and for the accelerated it was 107. But she said that for the 2 year they ended up accepting people who had 130 points that were on the alternate list (or whatever it's called). Because people like me who apply to both, and end up getting into the accelerated program afterwards end up dropping out of the 2 year, so they call the people on the back-up list for the 2 year. Good luck to everyone!!
  9. Can anyone tell me what these two hospitals pay RN's that are new grads? Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI and McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital (formerly Ingham Regional Medical Center) in Lansing, MI.
  10. Congrats to all who made it in for the accelerated program! I just started my pre-reqs this summer, so I won't be able to apply until 2014, but I am worried I won't be able to get enough points! If the cut-off was 109 this year, I can't even imagine what it will be in 2014. If I get a 4.0, plus manage to do 400+ hrs volunteer work, plus take the Phlebotomy courses (CHSE 143 & CHSE 144), I will have 112 points. Unfortunately I don't have any work experience. So 112 is the highest possible I'll be able to get. This may be a stupid question, but what type of volunteer work counts for points? Does it have to be in the health care field? What has everyone else done for volunteer points? Thanks for your help!
