Lawson State Hopefulls

Thanks 2nurture! I know the past 2 weeks we had our mail coming at 3pm but it normally is here around 10am. I figured there was a sub carrier and my letter possibly was lost. Not the first time to happen in my part of town. My advisor is L.Williamson in the health dept. Where did you apply? Have any of you registered for your classes? What about cpr class? Thanks for the info 2nurture!

That sounds like the mail where I live. When my normal postal carrier is off I get everybody's mail EXCEPT mine. I can only imagine where my mail goes. The city of Hoover has classes for CPR. The next one is 9/5 and its only 20.00. You can register online.

You guys must live in Roebuck! (the mail!) I will also be renewing my CPR cert. at the class in Hoover on 9/5.

TO: Keelee, regarding the dosage calculation test . . . do they give all three tests at the beginning of the semester or the end? Jeff State did not teach calculations, you had to learn it on your own.

Does anyone know exactly how the background check works on the Lawson State website? What do I choose? I don't want to spend $30 and I choose the wrong things on the background check.

Hi:

I don't think it will let you check out until you have done all three backgrounds, which I believe are criminal, and then a sexual offender, and then something else, I can't remember now. But I think it will make you choose three different background area checks and then will direct you to the payment page. That's what I did anyway. Hope this helps.

jazzyjoy and justshe what was the point cut-off for wallace and how long did it take to get your letter from wallace after the deadline

Im not sure about the cutoff for Wallace, but I heard 164 somewhere. The letters for Wallace came out early in July I believe around the first week.

The cut off was 164! My letter was dated July 1st and I got it like the 3rd!

I had another question the cutoff for the fall is the same cutoff they will use for the spring I turned my info in on July 7th and just waiting to get in iam not sure how they count the pts up if they use the same system of counting them that is but i applied for the rn in spring and iam waiting to see if i got good news or bad and if iam not in then i guess i how to wait on my letter from lawson's lpn the deadline is nov 1 i already turned everything in for them to so iam just waiting i hopes are on wallace and back up is lawson good luck to the two of you jazzyjoy and justshe my friend got in to lawson and started on monday on the bessemer campus she said its going to be a long and hard roll and my cousin is 18 and in the lpn she said its pretty easy if you just read the material everyday and sometime with a friend , but i cant wait for my turn

LOL! DO NOT BE FOOLED!!! NOTHING IS EASY ABOUT THIS NURSING PROGRAM IF YOU ARE TAKING IT FULL TIME!!!! They are not playing any games with you for sure. Just know your life as you know it is over and your life needs to be centered on Nursing!!! I have a hard time focusing on all 3 of my classes for focusing on one. I think one is more important when they all are. HEAD IN A BOOK!!! ALL I GOT TO SAY!!! Not trying to scare you just telling the absolute truth so you can prepare yourself! It can be done though! :)
