Hello everyone I would like to congratulate everyone who made it into this falls (2016) cohort. I will be applying to Lawsons fall 2017 cohort. I am creating this forum for those who are currently in the program that would like to encourage the next class and also let us know what to expect and for those applying to the 2017 cohort. Lets also post scores as we complete classes and take the ACT. So far I have taken bio 103, micro, eng, a&p 1, psych 1& 2, humanity, and will be taking a&p 2 and math 100 this miniterm and will be taking hps 103 and mth 186 in January. Oh and also remember no question is a dumb question unless you dont ask it!!!
It is a good aid to help with the style of questioning. It does generally line up with lecture but not exactly because the instructors make up their own questions and gather them from other resources. Truthfully I would only get the med surg success book if you are struggling immensely with the test questions. There are tons of questions online for free. I wouldn't buy any of the other success books as you won't really need them the entire time.

Okay great I appreciate the advice.. I was also wondering how much does being a PCT help with understanding things in nursing school?

I went through PCT training and must say that you get to know for sure if you going to like the nursing part of the healthcare field. Being a PCT does give you experience such as caring for the patient and doing basic vital signs and such. I agree with Lstratman it can help get your foot in the door and having some type of medical background does help a little.
I'm applying to Jeff State, Lawson, Bevill, Wallace, and CACC in Childersburg, Al. I took my ACT last month and scored a 20 I heard from other people this was acceptable at Bevill and Wallace, but I'm still freaking out about my ACT score. I scored in A's in all my prereqs. Can you ladies give me some insight on the ACT scores. I know it is a minimum of 18, but I'm not sure if 20 will be enough to cut it. Some highschool girls, may be coming out of slinging 27s!! I'm taking it again in Feb.
Hello Spicegirl01, I think you have a pretty good score. I just took the ACT last Wednesday for Jeff State and I am trying to be patient to see my score. lol! I wished I could score a 30 like these highschoolers too! LOL! Just remember, what God has for you is for you. Your acceptance won't be based solely on your ACT score.

I have med surg success. It has tons of questions with rationale to answers. Helpful with the NCLEX style questioning
