Hi Everyone,
Wanted to start a thread for Lawson State Hopefuls Nursing Program SUMMER AND FALL 2016. Are there anyone that will be applying soon or already a Nursing student in the program already? I will be apply in a few months from now
Thank you!!
The new curriculum had not been implemented until Fall 2017. You would be accepted under the current curriculum and would have to go by those guidelines. LPN is 3 semesters. You graduate , sit for NCLEX, and you can come back after a year and go for RN if you wish. You would return to do 3 more semesters and sit for RN NCLEX
Sorry guys I had to finish up at work, but lstratman you've let me know something I didn't know. I didn't know once finished with lpn I would have to sit out for another year. I've already been kicking my butt for not trying harder in fundamentals and had to sit out for 2 semesters. I wish I'd gotten in RN program.
You have to sit out a year if you want back in at Lawson because of the rotation of classes. You would join the RN class when they are in 3rd semester. I think you have up to two years for Lawson's mobility eligibility under old curriculum. I don't know about the new. If you don't do mobility within that time frame Lawson makes you start from semester 1. I'm not sure how other schools do it
Well I may just try school in Marion thenm they only have RN program but I didnt want to drive all over the place or all over bama for clinicals. I just didnt want to sit out for a year but I did forget u have to work a certain amount of hours after u graduate LPN right ?
Yes. Just keep in mind ladies that there is NOTHING wrong with doing LPN first. Yes you may have to sit out a year but that time will pass regardless. You can get hands on clinical training in that year and come back and kick RN school butt. They added about 17LPNS to our class this semester. Heads held high. You all got this!
