I am in the ASN program right now. I am strongly considering staying at Regis for the bridge program. Not quite sure yet though! It's only 4 more classes to get a "BS equivalent" (they don't actually give you a BSN) and then you transition right into the master's program. Regis is so expensive though so I'm not sure yet. But once I become a nurse hopefully I'll be able to afford it :)

whoo hoo, just got accepted into the day ASN program for the fall. I have to take nonnursing courses first in the fall; am wondering whether I can switch to nights so i can keep my day job until the nursing program begins...I'm also interested in the MSN track, since i have a bs from unrelated field. Wondering how I'm going to make it all work financially -- single mom. anyone else in the same boat? Can you take some CC classes for science classes to ease the financial sting?

@beachmum - YES, you do not have to take all of your pre-req's from Regis. I took 80% from NSCC and just had to take 2 at Regis. It saves a TON of money - at least 600 per class!! I have been unemployed for over 2 years, SAHM with 2 small children and am very worried about the financial aspect, but my hope is that with loans we can make it through. I am in the night/we program.

Hey there! I was accepted to the Lawrence Memorial/Regis College nursing program and will begin in the Fall of 2011. I just wanted to know if there are any other students on here that are currently in the program, have already graduated, or will be starting at the same time? I am super excited and can't wait to begin! I know it will be challenging but I am ready to take it on!!!! I would like to hear from anyone that has graduated and it working - anyone that is willing to share their experience!! Thanks!!!!

I may be in the Fall program-- I was originally accepted as a non-matriculating but now they are saying they may push me through!! I am so excited. I just took AP1 and currently taking AP2. Although I will still have micro and a few others to take.

Did you get an agenda for the fall orientation? Someone said there is a math pre-test in there and I was just curious to know what kind of math!! Algebra? If anyone knows, I would greatly appreciate any insight!!

Also, are there many things you need completed before nur 101. CPR, right?

Thanks!!!

Yes - I received the math packet. Its basic math -- but all stuff that you most likely forgot about (although very basic!!) LOL. Its adding/subtracting fractions, multiplying dividing fraction, least common denominator, decimals, etc. One of the required books, "Dimensional Analysis for Meds" has a math review in the beginning 4 chapters. I found it helpful. Its amazing how quickly you put that stuff in the way back of yoru mind!!

Good luck on getting into the program! I am finishing up Microbio in a few weeks and then I am finally DONE with pre-req's!! HOORAY!!

I did not take micro at LM/RC. I've been taking most pre-reqs at a local Community COllege to save a little on cost. Good luck though!!

Humblebug,

Will you be doing the day or the night/weekend program? I will start the day program this fall!

Hello,

Believe it or not, I'm not sure! I was originally wait listed for winter, but now I was told I can email G parks at midterm of ap2 and petition for earlier start! I'm not sure if it's a man or women!! And, I am nervous about what to say.

(I still have to take micro though and ethics.) I plan on being in the day program too! :o I really hope I can begin in Fall with you. Is there a lot of prep work to do before the nur 101??

:yeah:

She is a woman ;). As for prep work, there is some reading prior to the start, CPR training and some math prep. Still plenty of time though!! FYI - Regis offers a winter intersession Ethics course on the Weston campus (2 weeks long). I took it over the break this past winter and it certainly held my interest for 2 weeks. You should check it out if you can. It was so nice to put it behind me in two weeks!!

Thank you so much!! I figured, a women! Wow, I'll have to check into that winter intersession course! That doesn't count for 3 credits, does it? If so, that is fantastic!!

:) I do need to get CPR re-certificated soon.

Have a great week. :lol2:
