LATTC RN Spring 2020 Acceptance

Published

Hi everyone, I made a thread for those students who are to start the LATTC nursing program Spring 2020! Hopefully this will be helpful! I applied Feb 2018 and I’m waiting for an acceptance letter. I was told I am to start Spring 2020. Hopefully I get an acceptance letter this Aug.

I am going in August to turn in updated transcripts.

Hi all,

Glad to see a new thread for this school. I applied May 31, 2018. I was told my start date would be Fall 2020 according to whoever answers the phone. The staff at the nursing department says sometimes when enough students reject and depending which applicant applied earlier than you and the amount of students needed to fill the cohort you can start sooner than your "expected" start date. I keep hoping and praying I will start Spring 2020. Best of luck to those who applied in February and March 2018 because you should be getting acceptance letters this August.

Who ever accepts or rejects their spot would be helpful to know, if you can post on here whether you've accepted/rejected your Spring 2020 seat. I too do not have the best grades (I'm talking mostly B's) and am thankful this school is an option. Hopefully you all get your letters soon!

P.S. I keep calling the office and I've emailed Angel this month but no one answers/she doesn't respond to my email(s). Maybe they're on summer break? Nonetheless I am trying to be patient. I still apply to other community colleges however I get rejected every time. It's not that my grades aren't competitive, but it's because the rank or lottery system is a number game and means I have to keep trying. I do not want to give up!

xoxo

August is here!!! The anxiety is real! I hope letters come in soon! Let’s keep each other updated!

I checked the mail today, nothing. I hold out hope I may get in.

Even though I'm pretty sure I won't be part of this cohort since I applied in Oct 2018 I'm rooting for all of you and I like to get general info from current students.

Good luck everyone! ?

I everyone I Filled out my application into the program August 2018 and still haven’t heard anything. Like you all mentioned they’re not answering the phone or giving any updates. I’m praying I get a letter soon. If I applied August last year I wonder when will I start? 2020? Fall 2020? ?

Any news?

I keep checking the mail.

Hello all I emailed Roshell about when I would start the program (I applied in May 2018) and she replied and told me that Angel will be reaching out to students to start in Spring 2020 in SEPTEMBER. If I don't hear from Angel then Roshell told me to email her back. I'm not sure if Angel will reach out to students after the letters are sent out via mail. Does anyone know if Angel reaches out via email or phone call??? If anyone gets an email or phone call from Angel that would be helpful. I'm always confused as to how Angel communicates with us since I'm not very successful with emailing her. She's probably too busy to respond to/read emails which is why I'm curious. Any info would help us out. Keep hanging on guys!

@Hopeful46 typically we've been told students wait 2-3 semesters after they apply and your first semester does not count. For example you applied August 2018 which is Fall 2018 semester. You do not count that semester. Spring 2019 your wait began which is semester 1, Fall 2019 is semester 2, Spring 2020 is semester 3, so maybe you might start Fall 2020. Please do not quote me on this and I don't want you to get your hopes up without asking staff yourself. Try asking staff what your chances are for starting Fall 2020. You may start sooner or later but always ask. Once you are added on the waitlist you only move up the list and no one is being added before you. I know that staff doesn't always answer, but keep calling and politely ask to check your status. I find they don't answer phone calls in the summer so try calling again during Fall semester (end of August-start of September).

I was told as well by one of the ladies who was at the workshop clearing prerequisites that most people were waiting about a year. From what I can tell by previous posts, it seems that there was an influx of applicants in 2017 and part of 2018 and that’s when they changed the wait time to 3-4 semesters. That seemed to thin out a bit hence the reason why she said most are waiting about a year. I’m not saying to count on that and things are always subject to change. I am hopeful that I will get in soon. In the meantime I am working on other things, and trying to save the most money possible.
