Hello all,
I submitted my application March 2016 and was told to wait for an email from the department containing the start date. Has anyone received confirmation to start the program in Winter/Spring 2017?

Hello! I currently attend the LATTC nursing program and I am a current first semester student. If you have any questions please let me know, and I also have another forum posted on this forum I think its under "Lattc Nursing Fall 2016".
Thank you so much for reaching out! I read over the other thread as well. I love that you want to help pave the way for those behind you! Any tips for pharmacology or the intro course? Is there any thing I can do or study now to get a head start? Also parking is a beast when ever I go. Any tips on that would be greatly appreciated! í ½í¸Š
Of course! It's no problem! Well I really enjoyed pharmacology compared to fundamentals because pharmacology involved concrete facts and mostly it wasn't subjective information that could interpreted differently based off another individual. Pharmacology involved dosage calculations, it also involved knowing drug classifications, knowing their contraindications, indications, side effects, and nursing interventions and teaching you'd do with the patient. I can give an example, benazepril is an Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor it is indicated in patients with hypertension. It's major side effect is an annoying dry cough so you'd assess the patient for signs of that cough. It can also alter potassium levels in the blood which is very dangerous so you'd monitor potassium levels in these patients. But of course there's so much more about that certain drug class. With parking you shouldn't worry, I took pharm in the summer and never had problems with parking since no one took summer classes and all nursing classes are early in the morning. The only time I had difficulty with parking was my first day of class for the fall semester because everyone is starting school again so everyone comes in early like at 6:30 so it got packed really fast. Luckily they opened up a new parking lot so it should ease some of the congestion but after 3 days it dies down quickly. And with classes beginning at 6 am sometimes, its not much to worry about.
