Well I will begin my final semester starting in January and will graduate with my Associates in May 2011. While I am thrilled and cannot wait to start working as an RN I have some worries. I do well in lecture and pretty good in clinical but my concern is putting it all together. I still do not have my time management down in clinical-my clinical instructor pointed this out. I still get very nervous in clinical even after three semesters of it! I am so worried that I wont know my stuff when it comes time to go to work as an RN. I can do more skills now that I am going into fourth semester, but I forget some steps sometimes. Give me any advice, I tend to worry and get stressed and I really am making an effort to stay in the present moment and learn as much as I can before graduation. Do you think that after I begin work as an RN, I will gain better time management? Thanks in advance!! :heartbeat:nurse:

I had similar concerns before my last semester. It's scary when you see the gap between the way you function and the way the experienced nurses are on the floor. I felt like my senior practicum was very useful for putting it all together and starting to really be effective as a nurse. Also, I kept in mind the advice I read here once: Passing NCLEX is like getting your driver's license. The real learning takes place on the job. HTH!
Thanks, I feel better now!
