Last semester and applying for jobs

Published

I am in my last semester of nursing school graduation is May 5, 2017. I've been told the sooner you apply the better. I'm running into a problem though. When I go to apply for jobs there is a three questionnaire to fill out. First question, "Are you a licensed RN?" Second question, "Are you eligible for licensure in this state?" Of course my answers are no to those because I am not yet eligible for boards so of course I am not a RN so with my answer being no to those questions it will not let me apply for the job for not meeting the minimum requirements. So how do you apply for jobs without lying on that portion of the application?

I had the same situation, and I think it's common. It's best to contact the recruiter and ask how they want you to respond. My experience was that they told me to answer yes.

Thank you! I emailed the recruiter Friday and haven't received a response, but I will email them again.

Former sales guy tip: Sometimes you can google their email and/or name + business and find their direct line. Some also list their phone number on their LinkedIn page, and recruiters are all (the vast majority) on LinkedIn. If all else fails, just call the general HR number. It's a pretty basic question anyone in Hr should be able to answer.

I've been running into the same issue. I had one application come back as "not under consideration" the very same day because of it. I'll try LinkedIn.
