Well tonight I begin my last pre-req before I can begin NS. I'm so excited and nervous all at the same time. This is the make it or break it course for me. If I can't do well in this class then I have no hope of doing well in NS. I'm taking Human Biology and if I can't do well in Human Bio then A&P is hopeless. I was told by an admission person at my school that A&P is the "Granddaddy of all biology courses". Right now I'm accepted at my school as a General Studies with a Concentration in Nursing student. Since I don't have a valid biology grade I can't be accepted into the Nursing Program until I have a grade of "C" or better in biology. So that is why I'm taking Human Bio as my last pre-req. I figure it would be helpful once I get in to A&P but if I don't do well (and I mean better than a "C") in Human Bio I'm writing off NS. I do not want to go into NS and flunk out b/c I am not strong enough in A&P. I'm so stressed about taking A&P I don't know how the actual NS students at my school take A&P along with their Nursing classes.
Sorry for the babbling

don't give up....you will do great!! just study hard and stay focused!! i am in my last semester of pre-reqs right now and it is the HARDEST semester i've had since i've been in college. i'm guessing that the nursing program you are wanting into does some of the standard bio and other courses along with nursing courses. a & p was a pre-req for the school i'm going to!

That's GREAT!!!! this class is fairly easy. I'm sure that you will do well. By the way what school do you attend?

If you want it bad enough, study hard, give it all you've got. I do think you need to have a little knowledge about A&P but you can make it through nursing school and brush up as you go. I got an A and I don't remember half of what I learned, but with a quick refresher as you go along it comes back. Don't base your whole future on one class, too much pressure, just study like you've never studied before. If you can get the basics down you'll be fine in NS.

you'll do great in bio! Just make sure you know all the basic concepts well- cell structure, plasma membranes, organic molecules, and cell metabolism.
A&P really isn't that bad, there is some technical physiology stuff, especially in neurology and muscle contraction, but once you read it a few times and if you can find some animations on YouTube that helps a lot I've found. Plus, at least for me, learning about the human body is so fascinating I loved the class!
Do you not have to have A&P as a pre-req? I'm jealous. I'm also finishing up my pre-reqs and hopefull starting NS in Sept. Good luck!!
