  1. @ Shanahan please don't get upset with me. Every student have had different experiences. Good luck to you.
  2. @TCA, I was accepted into Gcu ST joes fast track rn program to find out later that they wouldn't be starting their program right away and so I went with Apollo. I do admit they will work with you financially. However, Gcu is accredited and their fast track programs within the hospital does guarantee you a job right away. I wouldn't recommend the on ground program which is probably where those horror stories came from. As far as which program to choose just go with your heart. Forget about time it goes by quick. Maricopa community colleges has better labs and clinical sites than both Apollo and Gcu combined. But like I daid follow your heart its your career and $$.
  3. If I could go back in time I would have saved my money, apply to get into a community college and wait. Apollo College is a shady program. I should have known better when I ran into a student that told me "if the professors don't like you they will fail you." And she was right. In addition, you don't really learn much from the school. I was able to get an 86 and 87 (second time taking the course) without cracking the book open. These professors like I said are shady. 40% of your grade will be based on a test that you will learn nothing about in class. The test question are made up by professors that are not even up to date and some new professors that probably are not as educated as some of you who have prior degrees. They hire the first person they can find.
  4. Wow I thought I was the only one experiencing this situation of failing clinicals. First of all, I don't believe your instructor should have failed you without warning. Secondly, what's her beef? Whatever it is who cares? Go to your dean. I failed because of care plans and was "deemed unsafe for clinicals" but yet my instructor still allowed me to work on patients and submit my careplans after telling me she would not pass me with 2 weeks left. On top of that she would spend most of her time working with the other students and whenever I would ask for her help she pretended like she had to go answer a call light or check on the other students. In the beginning of the semester I had some family issues and told her about it, she asked me if I went to church. She baptist, and her husband is a pastor. At first I thought she was concerned, now I really think she discriminated against me and failed me because she can. If I were you I would fight that decision, what's the worse that could happen?
  5. Hi, Miss Amber Why is it 50K? Did they change the price or something?
  6. So Trini, are you still considering moving back to NY?
  7. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! I recently got accepted into GCU's nursing program as well. After 1 and 1/2 of anxiety, I finally got accepted. I was always worried that my gpa would prevent me from getting in, but my hard work, determination and faith help pull me through. I just wanted to let everyone know NEVER GIVE UP HOPE!!! I was so pessimistic that I submitted my background check 2 days before they went into acceptance. But I kept faith in God and finally I'm here!!!

  9. I have taken a quiz on the cardiovascular system and noticed that my prof gets most of his questions from the companion site of the textbook http://bcs.wiley.com/he-bcs/Books?action=index&bcsId=2287&itemId=0471689343. I'm not sure what textbook you are using but this helped me study for my quizzes!
