Language proficiency for International students

World Canada

Published

I am an international student in Canada. I recently passed Nclex and Jurisprudence exam and left with language proficiency. one of criteria of language proficiency is that your employer sent a reference letter to cno and I wanna ask if any RN went through this process. can you please care to tell me did cno accept that letter and how much time it took for you to get approved from cno? I will wait for your response.

I shall be really very thankful to you for your help.

Hi can you please help me with the format of how you had written foe a request for the committee to review your file with the letter of your employer to prove as your english proficiency? My deadline is this july 13,2016

I've never seen an employer qualified to assess English language proficiency. Other states will accept verification from an overseas school of nursing that the courses and all texts were taught in full English

How about did you proceed with this with a letter feom your employer? Kindly please help

Hello Seethal,

Yes, CNO accepted my language proficiency.

How long did CNO respond? Would you be able to help me do what you did NerdyNurse23?

Hi Dear,

You have to send one letter to CNO in which you need to write that they (cno) will expect reference letter from current and former employee and if any other document which shows your English proficiency.

Then inform your employer and send papers on time. Don't forget to tell them how many hours you worked there and what kind of work you did which shows your English proficiency.

Good Luck

Thank you. I will work on that. My employer is already aware and making the letter. I hope i can get it in this week. How long did they respond or make a decision with your case?

It takes 3, 4 months.

Have you cleared NCLEX RN?

Not yet. I did CPRNE

Hi Dear

Please refrain from referring to people you do not know in this way. It doesn't sound friendly, it sounds patronizing.

@NerdyNurse23

Good to know that you passed the CNO process. I have a similar case as yours. Can you please PM me your number/email. I would like to discuss few thing with you.
