Langara Jan 2017

Published

Hey guys! I'm applying for Jan 2017. I was taking "booster" courses in hopes of getting in with old admission requirements. But now that the 2 university transfer courses are eliminated, I'm really worried :( Do you guys think the competition will be more fierce with the new admission requirements? (2 eng, 2 bio, stats) Could someone please share what they're applying with? I don't have any A's and it's very likely I may need to look towards a new career path. Honestly, I think the reason they got rid of the 2 transfer courses is because before people could get in with C+ in biology and stats with the help of A+ in booster courses. Now it's more about having good marks in all the courses that are relevant to the nursing program.

Did you have a previous degree?

People who have completed degrees have already had their offers sent. The people getting offers now are ones w/o a degree

Hi everyone. Congratulations to those who got their offers! I got waitlisted and they said they will contact me anytime between now until the first day of classes in January. Wish me luck!

Congrats!! I have a 3.3 also, hoping I will receive an offer within the next few days too......

Did you recieve an offer yet? Did anyone else recieve an offer under 3.5? Im nervoys :S

No, I am waitlisted.

I am also wait listed! Anyone know how many people they keep on their waitlist?

If you qualify with a 2.33 you will be put on the waitlist if not offered a spot. Then after awhile when the next round of offers are sent out they will shorten the waitlist to about 20 people I believe. I could be wrong about the 20 but It's what a friend in the program told me

I know that Langara has given an extension to some students. If they have sent the offer already, does any one know how it's gonna work for the people who are accepted for the extension. As I am doing A&P II and my second English right now, I am so worried.

I was told that offers will be sent for those with extensions early September so as long as you are able to receive your grades before the end of August it should be fine

Did any of you on the wait list actually get in for Jan.2017 and how recently were you notified please? Thx and hope your first term goes well!

I forgot to ask if anybody got accepted with a GPA lower than 3.3 pls?
