Hey guys! I'm applying for Jan 2017. I was taking "booster" courses in hopes of getting in with old admission requirements. But now that the 2 university transfer courses are eliminated, I'm really worried Do you guys think the competition will be more fierce with the new admission requirements? (2 eng, 2 bio, stats) Could someone please share what they're applying with? I don't have any A's and it's very likely I may need to look towards a new career path. Honestly, I think the reason they got rid of the 2 transfer courses is because before people could get in with C+ in biology and stats with the help of A+ in booster courses. Now it's more about having good marks in all the courses that are relevant to the nursing program.
Hi @itsvivz ! They called me twice, once to confirm whether or not I was still interested in keeping my position in the waitlist (which I said yes of course to!) and then they called me later on that day saying they did have a spot for me!
@Allie-He No unfortunately, they never told me what position I was in! They just asked to confirm if I wanted to keep my spot or not - which seemed very iffy to me at first, because I've been waitlisted twice before and they never gave me this call before!
Hi everyone,
This is a bit unorthodox but I just wanted to introduce myself because the start-of-school craziness. I'm currently finishing my last year of nursing school at Langara and I'm also one of the delegates for the Canadian Nursing Students' Association (CNSA). CNSA is one of three nursing student organizations at Langara and our aim is to encourage student engagement and promote the nursing profession. Nationally, CNSA represents more than 30,000 students across Canada, and many of us gather each year at the regional and national conferences.
At the college we try to hold events such as workshops, specialty panels, bake sales, and celebration for Nursing Week. We're currently planning a kind of orientation for you guys in January which will allow you to meet fellow classmates and ask students in higher term any burning questions that you might have. We'll also come to one of your classes during the first few weeks so keep an eye out for us.
I'll be checking periodically if you guys have any questions. You can also check Home - Canadian Nursing Students' Association and Facebook.com/CNSALangara for more information.
Looking forward to meeting you all in January :)

Hi guys! Has anyone on the waitlist been contacted by phone to see if they're still interested in keeping a waitlist position? I just got a call from admissions today and they asked me if I had other plans for January, otherwise they would take me off the waitlist! Obviously I said I was still very much interested. What a tease though, I thought they were calling to offer me a spot!
has anyone else experienced this and what are the chances of getting in after getting this call?
