Langara Jan 2017
Hi @itsvivz ! They called me twice, once to confirm whether or not I was still interested in keeping my position in the waitlist (which I said yes of course to!) and then they called me later on that day saying they did have a spot for me! @Allie-He No unfortunately, they never told me what position I was in! They just asked to confirm if I wanted to keep my spot or not - which seemed very iffy to me at first, because I've been waitlisted twice before and they never gave me this call before!

Langara Jan 2017
Hi guys! Has anyone on the waitlist been contacted by phone to see if they're still interested in keeping a waitlist position? I just got a call from admissions today and they asked me if I had other plans for January, otherwise they would take me off the waitlist! Obviously I said I was still very much interested. What a tease though, I thought they were calling to offer me a spot! has anyone else experienced this and what are the chances of getting in after getting this call?

Langara Jan 2017
Hi guys! I also applied with a 3.1 with the new requirements hoping it will be enough to get in! I was waitlisted for the previous intake as well, been playing this waiting game for quite a while now, hoping we hear back from them soon!

Can't get into a program! :( What's the best backup plan?
Hi everyone, First off I'd like to give you all a little intro to my situation. I'm a second year student in my fourth semester at Langara, and I've applied and was waitlisted TWICE for Langara's Nursing Program. I've heard things about people in previous intakes applying with my gpa (3.4) and getting into the program, but this most recent intake I applied for (sep. 2016) the cutoff seems to be at 3.8 WITH a degree (which I don't have). I'm feeling a little discouraged at this point as I feel like I put all my eggs into one basket and didn't consider other options to apply to. I also never solidified a proper backup plan just in case I wasn't accepted. What would your advice me for someone like me who's a bit lost and not really sure what the best next step to take would be? I've considered retaking all my courses and upgrading my GPA as best I can, completing prereqs for other places such as BCIT (I don't have volunteer experience, which I could work on during the summer), applying to a LPN program and bridging over to RN later in the future, or applying somewhere outside of the lower mainland (depending if I haven't already missed the fall intake deadlines). These are all options I've seen thrown out there from other AN users on different forums, but I was wondering if any of you are from my area and were in the same boat as me. I want to get into nursing school as soon as I possibly can, and I want to use the time I have as efficiently as possible! I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys, thanks in advance! :)

Langara Fall 2016 Intake
Waitlisted with a 3.4 gpa... I've read on other forums as well and I think people with a 3.6 gpa (no degree) have also been waitlisted.. how disappointing! Congratulations of to everyone who's had an offer though - crazy competitive this intake must've been.

Langara Fall 2016!
Thank you haedis, hoping we all get our acceptances soon enough, especially with the new change in prereqs and all!

Langara Fall 2016!
Hi guys, since finals are over I've had a tentative look at my new gpa that I'm applying with for fall 2016, I bumped up my gpa from a 3.27 to a 3.40 (still waiting on a final mark from one of my electives, but this is what i'm working with). I've been waitlisted for spring 2016 (not too sure if there will be a chance for me to get in - everyone's basically had their offers sent at this point) and I've applied for fall 2016 as well. Pretty nerve-wracking having to wait a while for offers to be sent out whilst knowing that most people who have gotten accepted have gpas of 3.5 or higher (as read in previous intake posts). Now we play the waiting game

I've also been waitlisted! Does anyone know how to check their position on the wait list?
