Langara Fall 2016!

Published

I know it's a bit early, just wondering if anyone else has applied for the Fall 2016 term? My application was completed at the beginning of this month, fingers crossed.

When calculating your GPA based on the 5 classes, is it on a 4.33 or 4.00 scale?

Im so surprised with the GPA cutoff this year - This must be one of the most competitive intakes yet. Congratulations to everyone who got in! Does anyone know if Langara send out rejection letters? No point in having hope if I don't have a chance, i'd rather get an answer instead of being led on by this wait list...

The GPA cut off is insane. You would literally need an A in every required course. My friend got in the last intake with a 3.4. With the new requirements for next intake not having electives and the extra English and Bio, a 3.9 will be so hard to achieve! Feeling discouraged. :(

I've decided to accept BCIT's offer. Hopefully, someone on the waitlist will be able to take my spot ASAP!

Good luck everyone :)

I received email from Langara today and they said I am on stand by wait list. Is this the same meaning to wait list? My international 4 year degree does not count for admission advantage. My 5 course GPA is 3.6

Doesn't a degree give you advantage in acceptance? Or it is just because it is international they're not counting it?

i applied for jan 2016 intake and got waitlisted then rejected. they send out rejection letters on the first day of classes so...September they will send rejection letters (so dumb)

I've been waitlisted with a 3.46. 😬

Wow, the GPA cutoff this year is like no other year. I haven't even done an application (hoping to start in 2017) and I'm already nervous!

I was waitlisted with a 3.73 GPA

3.73 is already an amazing GPA...
