Langara College Jan 2016 Intake

Hey guys! The deadline is quickly approaching for the Jan 2016 intake and I am already getting nervous and anxious. Especially after reading how high the GPA was for the fall 2015 intake. My GPA for the 5 credits is 3.18, so it's not outstanding and I'm quite nervous. How is everyone else feeling?

I have a friend who graduated from the nursing program at Douglas College. She said her entire tuition for her 4 years of nursing costed around 30 grand. I doubt that it will reach up to 80 grand :wideyed:

I did not apply to the program, but as I was reading this thread I was wondering what are the 5 prereqs needed to apply? So you can only apply after completing the 5 courses and not directly from highschool?

You can find it on their website but here it is

  1. Applicants must complete the following courses with a minimum grade of C+ in each course.
    • one of English 1127, 1128, 1129 or 1130
    • Biology 1190* (must be completed within FIVE years prior to the application deadline)
    • Statistics 1124 (must be completed within FIVE years prior to the application deadline)
    • two university transferable courses

*To meet program requirements BIOL 1190 and 1191, or equivalents must be completed at the same institution.

So no, students directly from high school cannot apply to the nursing program right away. You have to finish the 5 pre reqs first!

I emailed them on Thursday asking for any updates and for the GPA cut off, no one has gotten back to me....has anyone heard any new information yet?

I was told that all applications should be updated by July 15

Unfortunately we are unable to predict/advise on what the GPA requirement may be.
