  1. Hello I got accepted to the nursing program at Langara and recently got shortlisted to the nursing program at BCIT. I'm still deciding on which one to go to because I've been hearing so many things about the nursing program at BCIT. I was told that Langara allows you to work as an ESN while BCIT pays you during your preceptorship. Does that mean it is harder to get hired if you graduate from BCIT than Langara? I heard that ESN does help you a lot in finding a job..Experienced nurses please help!!
  2. My friend has a GPA of 3.47 and she got in! So I believe the cutoff is 3.45!
  3. Can somebody leave a link to the Facebook group page?
  4. I just accepted my offer too!
  5. Anyone with a gpa around 3.4-3.7 get accepted?
  6. Does anyone know what the GPA cutoff is?
  7. You can find it on their website but here it is Applicants must complete the following courses with a minimum grade of C+ in each course. one of English 1127, 1128, 1129 or 1130 Biology 1190* (must be completed within FIVE years prior to the application deadline) Statistics 1124 (must be completed within FIVE years prior to the application deadline) two university transferable courses *To meet program requirements BIOL 1190 and 1191, or equivalents must be completed at the same institution. So no, students directly from high school cannot apply to the nursing program right away. You have to finish the 5 pre reqs first!
  8. I have a friend who graduated from the nursing program at Douglas College. She said her entire tuition for her 4 years of nursing costed around 30 grand. I doubt that it will reach up to 80 grand
  9. Hopefully we all hear good news!
  10. Wow all of your GPAs are amazing! Congrats to all of you that got in!! Now I'm scared that my GPA isn't enough
  11. Has anyone so far hear anything from Langara?
  12. I have a GPA of 3.6....hopefully its enough! I'm dying to know the results >
  13. Hello future nurses! Mind if I ask your GPAs on the 5 pre requisites?
  14. Hello! When I called the academic advisor at Langara, they told me that a Bachelor Degree is only considered as a preference and will help with your application by a small amount. Your GPA on the 5 prerequisites is the important one. I was also told that you should have a GPA MINIMUM of 3.0 to be qualified as an applicant
  15. It says that the langara nursing program is completed in 3 years, 9 consecutive semesters..does this mean theres no break? D: How can we work as an ESN if theres no break between the semesters?
