Hi. I am very interested in the accelerated ASN program at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. Can anyone give me any information on this program? I've seen the information that is available online. However, I am looking for information from experienced insiders such as: getting accepted, true level of difficulty, etc. This will be a major career change for me, and I do not want to make a bad decision. I have a 3.6 gpa from SLU w/ AA in OSH and BA in Gen Studies. I consider myself a capable, hard working student but all I have heard is HORROR stories.
Thanks!
Whohoo! I got my acceptance letter today in the mail! I got into the East Jeff program that begins in the fall which is way better for me because I have a busy summer, the only thing is that on the second form it days FA 11 Tulane Med Ctr, so I'm a little confused because I thought it would say East Jeff, but the acceptance letter has East Jeff and has when the prerequisites are due in August. I will call to verify Monday, God is good!
The rest of you should hear something soon, I live in Houston, hard to believe I got it before Louisiana folks unless Good Friday had something to do with it.
Good luck everyone!
Just got my letter. I got put on the alternate list at tulane and it appears that they do not have all of my transcripts because they asked for my transcripts from last semester. They also left 5 classes blank on the checklist. I will have to resend them monday, i suppose. Congratulations CKP!
I would call and see where you stand on the list, you may be really close. I'm surprise they didn't ask b/c they kept asking me for transcripts throughout the process. Did you apply to the East Jeff campus as well? I really want us all to be together, but not starting until Sept will allow me more time to stack some more money!
Hi everybody! I got my letter yesterday, too! I'm in at East Jeff for fall. I am absolutely stunned bc when I didn't get in at the BR campus, I assumed I wouldn't get in at any of them, especially after I read the thing about not accepting credits older than ten years. But then the letter came, and now I'm just over the moon excited about it. Yes, CKP, God is very good. What a wonderful Easter present to receive. I can't wait to meet everyone else who got accepted and get started on our journey. Good luck to you all. Happy Easter. :)
@lynn23 Yes! Beyond frustrating! I was able to locate my receipt online saying that my transcripts had been paid for, sent, and processed. I also found an email convo with one of the nursing program coordinators(from back in December) saying that everything had been received and I was good to go (Guess it was pointless for me to doublecheck). I dont know what happened, maybe they were misplaced or maybe she just lied about receiving everything. I would really hate to think that their poor communication and lack of organization could be the reason why I didnt get accepted. I went ahead and had the transcripts resent this morning anyway.
And about my place on the list, the letter I received saying I was on the alternate list also says that they do not rank individuals on the alternate list. I emailed the program director this morning to let her know about pretty much everything I mentioned above and to see what were my actual chances of getting in. I doubt she will give me too much info, but I figured it was worth a shot. Congratulations again to everyone that got accepted!
Fumanchuesday-Don't know if this will help or not, but I called just now about my letter to make sure it was for east Jeff and they picked up right away. So maybe calling will get you more of answer, do u have the number for Tulane directly, if not its 5049880956. Did you apply to east Jeff as well?

Nothing in the mail today. I hope they still sent them. Im guessing people a little closer to NOLA will get them a day or so before me.
