Lady of the Lake Accelerated ASN

Published

Hi. I am very interested in the accelerated ASN program at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. Can anyone give me any information on this program? I've seen the information that is available online. However, I am looking for information from experienced insiders such as: getting accepted, true level of difficulty, etc. This will be a major career change for me, and I do not want to make a bad decision. I have a 3.6 gpa from SLU w/ AA in OSH and BA in Gen Studies. I consider myself a capable, hard working student but all I have heard is HORROR stories.

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing! You really just made my day :) I cant wait to find out

OMG! My stomach dropped when I read that, I mean we been waiting so long, the thought that its around the corner, has me nervous! What # did you call?

ok so I just called and was trying to probe for some more info, the lady they waiting for determines when the program will start, they can't mail letters until they know the start date, also I wad explainibg that I'm currently enrolled in the prerequisites and wanted to make sure that didn't hinder me, she said if someone didn't get in, it was probably due to GPA.

I wonder what my GPA is.

I hope they looked at more than just GPA (not that my GPA is bad). I just feel that I have other positives. I also wonder if this is based on prereq or cumulative GPA. The wording on the website makes me think Prereq GPA is the deal breaker. When I figure my prereq GPA I get a 3.464 for what I have already completed and a 3.559 projected after this semester. Then, if they count classes that I took multiple times, it would change things. Does anybody know if they count both scores on repeated classes when they calculate gpa?

I took A&P I and A&P II which transfer, and then I also took a higher level Human A&P as well that appears to transfer... Im wondering if all are counted or one would be thrown out

then again, if they go off my cumulative GPA, that is barely a 3.0... yikes

The calculate your repeats back in. All they want is ur prereq gpa...good luck bc repeats brung mine down

thanks for the info!

No problem....I love this blog it helps tremendously

Ok so how do I calculate my GPA? I'm not done with all of them yet, but will be by the deadline. All this speculating is really erking me, I wish we can just have our letters and know our fate! They need to take us all, since there's a high drop out rate.

So by next week we shall have sanity!

Here is a GPA calculator... Just enter each prereq grade and then the number of credits

OK now I'm really worried, I got mostly Bs, so my GPA is 3.3, if i calc

uated correctly, ugh!

I hope they look at other things besides grades, like what we are doing now, I'm in the healthcare field already but want to add to my credentials!

I'm going to give myself an ulcer worrying about this crub.

If it helps, before I applied, I called to get details and they said they had to dip down below the required gpa of 3.0 for last semesters class. I guess it really depends on this years applicants though.
