LA Pierce College Fall 2020

Published

Hello! I applied for the Fall 2020 cycle at Pierce. I just wanted to have a place to discuss it and also to see how everyone’s application process is going.

For those of you that were accepted check your emails. They have sent out information for orientation and registration.

I sent them the acceptance letter but didn't get an email about orientation and registration. Anyone in a similar situation?

Okay, good to know I'm not the only one. I'm sure there's a reasonable explaination, maybe we'll get something soon. I emailed them confirming if they got my email accepting the letter since they never sent a confirmation.

I just got a letter that they received my acceptance email.

I have not received any info on orientation/ registration yet. Just got an email confirming that they received my reply when I accepted

I just got an email that they received my acceptance. I emailed and asked a few days ago.

Specializes in Cna.

Me too. I emailed this morning asking if they had received my reply and they just replied “yes we did” ? that was it. But I haven’t received any info on orientation. Does anybody have a date for it?

Orientation will be via zoom on July 29th, 30th, and Aug. 5th, 9:00-2:00.

I didn’t get any orientation emails yet

Nice man. I’ve only applied to LAPC. I’m planning on applying to LAVC also. I didn’t apply to the other ones I wanted too because their applications require you to include extracurriculars like volunteering or experience in the healthcare area, which I don’t have yet. This really confuses me because they do a point system for their application based on certain grades and volunteering/experience when their application process is literary? ? it is my first time applying to any nursing program.

Hi @JVBO! I helped my hubby & am helping a friend with their applications. The extra curriculars aren't required, so don't let that stop you! It's just another way to improve your chances.

The point system is just another way of determining eligibility to go into the lottery system.

Any questions and I'd be happy to try to help. I actually considered going to school to be an academic counselor for a second just to help nursing students navigate the process because it can be a lot!

I still haven’t received an email for orientation/ how to register. Is anyone else still in the same boat?
