@DCC_ I'm sorry to hear that! But keep your head up. The follow up email indicated that a lot of stuff is kinda delay because of the pandemic. Registration codes haven't been assigned yet due to backlog, etc. They're not going to go over any of that until orientation so you have time and aren't missing out on that info. If it helps, I would suggest scheduling a physical and dental check-up a couple weeks out (to give you time to hear back & get the forms from them hopefully but not miss booking what I'm assuming may be limited appt slots). Part of everything includes a physical, specific immunization records, flu shot, 2step TB test. All of that isn't due though until Aug 31st. I can tell you to set aside July 29, 30 & Aug 5 9am-2pm for orientation over zoom. Hubby had to request those days off.

@Brisi04 I read somewhere that if you can, sometimes you can boost your GPA by taking courses over, to give yourself an added edge. Also any volunteering you can do if you can do that. If you're close to an associate's degree you can wrap that up to also get an extra edge. @blueestar @workingsmartnothard I believe each school is different in the time they permit between scores, but so far from what I recall most of the schools around this area it is 12 months which is quite a good stretch of time before you can retake and have the new score count.

@EMT2RN21 No you are not! And if you don't get a response in a day or two from your follow-up, let me know and I can get the info of the person sending the emails out from my husband and maybe you can reach out to them directly.

@EMT2RN21 As long as you emailed [email protected] I think you should be good. You can send a follow-up informing them no additional information has been received but you have spoken with other students who have said information has been sent. If all else fails, I'll get the name of the head instructor for you. You still have time, don't worry.

@EMT2RN21 You could always try re-sending. My husband originally replied directly to the email but then forwarded his reply when he didn't hear back and changed the subject line to include his name, the semester and "ACCEPT". How many times have you sent it?

@EMT2RN21 It went to his LACCD email, but he said it was weird cause most ppl it was sent to their district emails, but there were a few sent to personal email addresses. But only a couple.

@EMT2RN21 @NurseMe It was sent out on Friday. I think he said there were only like 23 people on it though so perhaps it was just the first distribution cause I thought the class size was like 36 or so. I could be wrong. I can have him let me check if your email is listed perhaps?

@EMT2RN21 After you send in your acceptance form there is a "Welcome" email with orientation dates, general overview of next steps, classes planned for Fall, etc. There are also attachments needed for your physical and a second email with the handbook attached.

@KayNik4089 I know dates & times for orientation if that's what you're looking for, but that's about it. I think individualized links will be sent out for Zoom. They seem to be waiting until orientation to do everything. He wanted to start his background stuff early as well but you need a login or code provided by the school.

@KayNik4089 @NurseMe @EMT2RN21 Hubby said no email has been received for orientation yet. He did ask about registering because he tried to last night but was unable to. They said there is an issue "due to the pandemic" and they will cover how to get around it during orientation. He emailed twice before he got a response about his acceptance. But I think if you received the welcome email you should be good to go.

Hi @JVBO! I helped my hubby & am helping a friend with their applications. The extra curriculars aren't required, so don't let that stop you! It's just another way to improve your chances. The point system is just another way of determining eligibility to go into the lottery system. Any questions and I'd be happy to try to help. I actually considered going to school to be an academic counselor for a second just to help nursing students navigate the process because it can be a lot!
