hi!
i'm posting here because i am at a crossroad...
i am a new labor nurse, was med/surg for 5 yrs. i have given great thought to midwifery school and now know after my 7 mos in labor that i will end up there.
however, in my attempts to leave my present position, (hosp where i am is a small community place very heavy in medical views and practices of birth..)
i was called to interview at both Overlook and Mountainside this week. lucky me, both HRs called. i'm really looking to get into a teaching hospital with midwives and get that exposure.
i delivered at Mountainside with my midwfe. I know I will get some great experience there.
does anyone have a reference point w either? i've been hearing great things about overlook. i am going per diem for either, with the opportunity for a benefitted position at some point if i am happy there and get tuition reimbursement for finishing my BSN.
anyone have any ideas about rates?
thanks

Yes it is! They're part of Atlantic health systems which was voted 49th best to work for by Forbes for 2013. I would absolutely go for it if I were you. Congrats :)

Overlook definitely. I am part of Atlantic Health right now and love it. They treat their employees well. I've worked at Mountainside as a sitter during nursing school just for a few months and will never tell anyone to go there
