Kingsborough NLN score 2009

Published

first_aid.pngI realize that no one posted for kbcc. Did anyone take the NLN this year or last May and what it your result.

My NLN score is 120 with a GPA 0f 3.0 sad.pngso I worry if I would get into the program.question.png

I got 147 composite

I got a 142 composite.

Sanart, they don't only base decisions on the NLN score...they also look at your grades. Don't worry.

Sannart, Loba is probably correct. I would hope they look at the entire picture. A 4.00 certainly says a lot more about your abilities and dedication then one test.

If you don't get in, which I doubt, make a fuss.

I attend another Cuny community college, and believe me they are all a hassle, you name it, they will hassled you, financial aid, bursar, book store, registar, Nursing Programs everything is made so incredibly hard and time consuming, go to a private school, believe me I go into my last semester in the Fall and if I knew then what I know now I would have done my prereqs and moved on to a private school, this is no way to do NS

anyone know when the acceptance letters for fall 2009 will be going out?

The letter from the nursing department with instructions for applying and the NLN, etc., says that the letters will go out in June. I'm assuming that they are waiting for this semester's grades to be posted.

I spoke to an advisor a couple of months ago. She told me that they are waiting for grades to be posted and we will get letters mid June - beg. of July. I'm dieing already =O

hi my name is joanna

and i want to go to kings borough community college and im wondering what is the gpa that actually gets someone into the program. the minimum is 2.5 to get in but im sure they expect a higher gpa

my only question is what is the actual gpa for the people that got in to the program.

if you are one of the students that got into the program pleas tell me what was your gpa.

thank you !

... or from im hearing do they look at the nln first and then all the rest gpa they consider in a little lesser degree !!!

can someone just give me some actual answers i really cant get anyone to give me a realistic score to get in

well thank you so much for your help

Well 2.5 is the cut off area. But I would definitely say get the highest GPA you can possibly work your butt off for. It will definitely give you an edge against the others. I just got accepted into the nursing program, I have a 3.5 GPA. Work really hard (and harder after that) It will be worth it in the end. Good Luck ^_^

P.S: From what I was personally told, they look at the grades more heavily than the NLN because it is basically a logistics test (like an SAT). I am guessing their thinking is "lets see who isnt going to waste our time in the long run"

Hope this kinda sorta helps =]

thanx that kind of sort of helps im a transfer and my over all gpa will be a 3.15

it really seems not enough ...so i just want to honestly know if this is a getting into the nursing program GPA my be you know anyone who actually got in with a 3.15 and descent nln like 130

i really need to get an honest answer for it, since i took my classes in hunter college and clearly that school is really hard so thats why my gpa ins't so competitive

if i went to kings borough first i probably would score a higher gpa, but i picked a bad school

what seems not to be such a good choice after all !!

if not kings borough i will go somewhere else somewhere ????

any suggestions about that???

....any way thank you for your interest

I'm going into my 2nd clinical semester and I can tell you that the GPA/NLN requirements seem to shift from term-term. I would say a 3.0 and 120 NLN are about the rock-bottom for real consideration.
