Who else is taking the NLN this coming monday/tuesday at kingsborough? What are everyone's thoughts of science 25?? Any concerns, comments, questions please feel free to discuss them here. Future applicants feel free to ask any questions, too!
Cant wait until clinicals! Currently have a 3.97 prereq GPA, completed all prereqs except for bio 51. All A's, aside from sci 25 with an A-
Hey man, don't stress about it... try distracting yourself for a month. I'm sure you got in, you just have to play the waiting game. I found out that we can actually take NUR 2700 (pathophysiology, which only requires SCI 25 and BIO 12 as prereq) now! It's an elective nursing course, and it doesn't seem like many students know that we can immediately take that after SCI 25. But I'm pretty sure we're going to need it later to get our BSN/MSN anyways. Not too late to sign up I think, although class starts tomorrow. Seats are still plentiful.
Anywayyyyy, about them looking at prereqs, yes they look at that primarily... but I remember the chairwoman of the program saying that it looks really good on you if you've taken the coreqs as well. It's just an added bonus if you've taken them, not necessary but looks good on your part basically. Most people strongly advised that you get them out of the way as much as you can though!
It's true that a lot of students failed fundamentals, but I have not heard that they will be accepting less students.
@missnomer .. The program is working on getting accredidation back. I don't believe it will affect finding a job after, if they do not get it back you can get the accredidation when you go for your bsn .. which is what I plan on doing.
you can probably look into the lpn route if this doesn't pan out. It'll be a pain in the butt to start over again but if it's your passion, don't let one rejection stop you. With that said, you scored a 130 on the nln. I think only a handful of people got above 130. And your GPA is fine. They wouldn't of let you into the preclinical if there was an issue with your grades.

The anxiety is killing me! Idk what else to do if I don't get into this program
You guys know if they look at your overall KBCC gpa, your overall college career gpa (which includes the coreqs, BIO 12, PSY 32, etc...), or simply your Pre clinical sequence gpa?
I heard that they look at your english portion of the NLN more heavily than the others, however someone in the nursing department told me they look at all 3 equally. I wonder which is true.
