:cry:i've been "terminated" from my pn program with three weeks to go till graduation! i made some mistakes, got three clinical warnings, which i complied with by going to the skills tutors to get help and they still kicked me out anyways!!!
they teach you something in march and expect you to be perfect when you do it for the 1st time in clinical in october, are they insane?! what kind of crap is that? how am i supposed to learn from my mistakes if i'm penalized for making them? they didn't even have the decency to say i was out of the program to my face, they sent me a letter! i didn't get to go before the "team" and defend myself, they just decided my fate and that's it. it's wrong and unfair. the punishment does not fit the crime. am i wrong?

It is not right if you weren't allowed to exercise your rights. Check out what your student handbook says about getting your side of the story heard and take it from there. Surely someone at the school should be willing to speak to you about this unfortunate situation.

That doesn't sound right... you should really speak to someone at the school to see if you can appeal their decision, especially since it sounds like you are close to being done.

I agree. Don't sit back and let them do this to you! Go up the latter to the president of the school if need be...Please let us know how everything goes!

I agree that this doesn't sound right -- I suspect there may be more to the story than we've been told.
Best wishes to the OP.

It sucks, but it's not the end of the world. I was kicked out halfway through my LPN program due to being ill and missing an accumulated eight days.
Just wait your penalty time, repeat what you gotta do and finish up, because it's WELL worth it in the end. I am now working and enjoy my job.

Unfortunately, I have to reapply to the program and repeat the entire 10 months. I don't know why I can't just repeat the last semester. It seems unreasonable to me.
Wouldn't the school collect more tuition money from you if you repeat the entire program instead of just the last semester? That is what makes it reasonable to them.

Find out if there's a school out there that will take your previous nursing student experience. Sometimes they will let you in around the area where you stopped going if there is room due to people dropping out. Good Luck
Update: So I filed a grievance at the school and the grievance was denied. Unfortunately I cannot take this to the president of the school because they consider it a grade appeal. I don't know how they figure it is a grade appeal when I was not allowed to finish the course. I talked to my doctor about the school situation and even he thinks its unreasonable. Pretty sad when even a doctor thinks it's unreasonable. Anyways, the only other community college in the area that has an LPN program will not accept my nursing courses for tranfer:confused:
So, since I want to specialize in pediatrics and need an RN for that, I am thinking of applying to the RN program at another community college in the area. Should I go for it?
Don't listen to them, take it to the principal of the school. You might also want to take it to the State Board too. That will get them to tinkle in their panties.
