Kennesaw State Spring 2011

Published

Hi guys!

I know I'm not the only one out there who has applied for KSU's BSN program for next spring. Anyone else anxiously waiting to hear about interviews? The application deadline was May 31 and I applied for the traditional program. Looking forward to hearing from you! :)

Oh, that stinks. But try not to sweat too very much. Do you have other classes to take? I would meet w/ F. asap and she will look over all of your scores and tell you what was low and what to bring up. Believe me, I was completely shocked when I didn't get in for the fall because I had a 3.91 overall and I thought certain categories like that would bring me in as well as my professional demeanor....but no! I didn't get in, had to re-take the TEAS, etc. But this is what happens because there are so few spots compared to the large number of people applying. Then you have very sharp people as well that have degrees in biology, etc. that are applying for traditional so it's just a competitive situation. You have to be patient and persistent and your time will come....probably for you, next time!

I'm sorry ktm :( Definitely talk to Fran and don't give up hope yet!

I haven't received any email yet. Do they send emails in one single day and do they notify everybody about their status via email?

I haven't gotten an email either...I wonder if that means I didn't get in :\

I just called the office and they are having a career fair today so noone has an answer. They asked to call back at 4 pm.

This sucks so bad...I mean I have never been so nervous in my life.

I have and overall GPA of 3.32 and 81.2 in TEAS. I did have 3 A's in my pre-requs , got an interview and not sure what will be my fate. I got an interview for accelerated program.

I interviewed for the traditional program and still no word. Are you planning on calling them again today?

I did and left messages twice. During past either I have never heard from them or heard 3-4 days later and sometimes those calls were meant to be for others and not me. I am totally lost and anxious now. For everything said, KSU has to be a good school, but I have always had a problem since the first day of attending it. My transcripts from previous university were lost, all my evaluation was with it. I applied for Financial aid and kept waiting to hear from them till the end of semester and eventually lost the aid despite calling them feverishly. The only good part was that eventually all my courses from 10 years ago when I did my graduate studies were transferred and some of them made up for pre-reqs. I have only taken 14 creadit hours with them so far and rest all the required courses at GPC. The teachers are good but there is a lot of mismanagement on administration part. I feel that way. This is apparantly a good school, close to my house and I have 3 very young children including a 9 month baby. SO I do want to get into this school and hopefully things will smoothen.

Piju....Don't give up if you don't get in this time. Being interviewed means you're almost there, but especially in accelerated where there aren't many spots, it's a lot of people that have 4.0's, and high TEAS, which I consider a TEAS high at 87-93.

One person I know had a ridiculously high TEAS at 94 or something, and she was very smart as well and it took her 3 attempts just because there were still some lower categories for her out of her five and she corrected those and started this fall. A story like that actually gave me some faith when I was turned down last semester. You may hear, well so and so got in w/ an 82 teas, but it is my opinion that all of the 5 categories need to be high at this time because look at our economy.... a lot of people are rushing to this in demand field and that makes an already overcrowded situation even worse.

And one more thought, maybe go for traditional next time not accelerated, where there are more spots. They can discuss all of this w/ you in person in advising, which is what I did. I hope I'm not being too intrusive w/ my advice, but I've lived to tell the tale!

Phew!!! I am already feeling better after reading your message. I'll go and talk to F to see what more do I need.

I did apply for both traditional and accelerated. They sent me a letter for accelerated. I'll go ahead and retake TEAS but with little preparation this time. Last time I went for the test straight from work without realizing the competition.

And I also wish you luck. You too are almost there. Hope to see you in the program soon :) Have a good day ahead !!!!

Yeah, I kind of didn't study for the TEAS as much as I should have the first time, but you're not really sure what you're studying for until you take the test! Good luck! You're almost there! This program is not for the faint of heart!
