KBCC Spring 2021 KINGSBOROUGH COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Published

I recently transferred to KBCC and will be taking the TEAS exam in December. I'm registered to take Microbiology and Applied Physical Sciences for Allied Health Careers this fall. I'd like to connect with others who are on the same path this semester with the intention to form a support/study group. Present students are welcome also.

It’s a good sign that they’re double checking. I kept thanking the woman for calling me. This process is so exciting and nerve wracking at the same time! I keep checking cunyfirst. I know that it’s still early but I just have to do something!

To all who took the TEAS exam I have two questions.

Did someone watched you take?
Are you allowed to use a calculator for the math section?

Someone is watching you take the exam but you can't see them and you're given a basic function calculator on the screen during the TEAS

So you can’t use your own calculator? Also, do the person watching have control of your computer?

For mine I couldn't and the proctor didn't say/type that I could use my own. But this is just my experience. Some people have said that they were able to use their own calculators without issue and no they don't have control of your computer, they just see your entire screen

I took the TEAS on Fulton St, NYC. I took that test in 2hrs. I sat in a computer room spread apart from others taking their own tests. The proctor can see your screen. There are cameras on the walls. But its not too much. You just check in, grab a paper for scrap, a pencil and sign in to the ATI website. Once you begin your test, thats it. Easy.

Oh and the calculator is basic. It's on the screen.

I didn’t know they were offering it in person. I thought it was just an online thing now but I guess that’s changing. I suck at math so I’m worried about that the most. Did any of you do the buy the practice exam and if so did you find it helpful with the real exam?

If you're proctered and you're taking it at home then they can tell if whether you click out of the screen and open any other screens.

I did purchase their practice package and it did help.  I'm not so great at math either.  Did you take some time to study?  When do you take yours?  I can email an ebook to help you study if you'd like.

I will be taking it after the Spring semester but I’m asking because I want to get a head start on studying. Emailing the ebook would be great. Thank you! Send me a private message and I’ll send you my email there.

I used Brandon Craft for Math days before the test. I scored above 80 in the math. I am NOT a math person. I have to retake R300– to give you perspective on my math skills. ??? But Google Brandon Craft. His videos saved me in math.

Focus on your AP and basic chem. Join FB ATI TEAS study groups for free notes and tips.

I purchased the $250 package and learned more from the FB study groups I joined. Just buy the practice tests to get a foundation started on what you need to study.

Definitely use Brandon crafts Youtube videos as BordeauxMama said and do the practice test on his website. The questions in the mometrix book are great practice too. I'm not great at math either and managed to score a 70 for that section

Thank You All! Keep me posted on acceptance letters.
