The only person who can make that determination for you, is you. Any program can be successful if a person puts effort into it. Likewise any program can be a failure if the person does not study effectively. You need to study as if you never tested before, to keep from glossing over or skipping topics because your mind is tricking you into believing that you already know the topic. Take a deep breath, relax, make a plan, then work your plan. Wishing you good luck.
yeah i think you are right! thanks

My school has decided to use Kaplan review. So far, more students have passed. I would go with Kaplan and stick to their plan. I am graduating in 30 days. I know you probably wondering why I am giving you advice, but all my friends who graduated last year have passed using Kaplan review. The review is going to be 9 days, 3 hours each time and I will get online Qbank. My goal is to pass the first try. Two of my friends also used Saunders in conjuction with Kaplan. The key is do as many questions as possible and go over each rationale. My professor suggested I do about 9000 questions. I did about 2000 already and not done with school yet. Good luck to you.
wow, that's really a lot! yeah practice makes perfect. thanks a lot!
Some days I plan to do 200 and other days 100 and set a time to practice at least 3 hours per day and take a day off in between. I know it can be done if I put in the time.
thanks.. im really determined this time!

i am a beliver in kaplan,i graduated nursing school 6yrs ago and in africa of all places! i studied using kaplan for strategies and lippincott manual for nursing practice for content and i felt the kaplan book for content and vedios helped alot too.i passed nclex first try,75questions and even thot i failed cos kaplan kinda over prepares you for the real nclex exam,it may sound rediculous but i felt it was easy.

I used drexel, hurst, and kaplan. I over study for it, but I felt I had to pass to the first time( plus my hospital provided reimbursement for long of them) if I had limited time to prepare
I would use
kaplan
because drexel and hurst are good, but mainly focused on content.
kaplan is more focused on how to beat the questions (breaking the questions into the stem and focusing the answers on that stem) __there are alot of right answers listed but focus on the answers that go with the stem__.
I answered 78 questions, but I took my time (~3hrs)
good luck and you can crack it
take your time!!!

I agree with Joseywales22.
Here's what I did to pass the exam and I hope this will help you and others:
My strategy when I was taking the exam was, I was reading the question thoroughly. I would then look at my 4 choices and eliminated the 2 answers that didn't make sense. I found it easy eliminating the 2 answers that didn't make sense. In other words, you can easily eliminate them right there and then the bad answers were as if screaming at you saying "DON'T PICK ME." Anyways, the next step for me was, I re-read the question again, and look at the remaining 2 best answers and I was asking myself, why would I choose this one over the other... vice versa...why wouldn't I choose this answer. It was as if a puzzle or connecting the dots.
As long as you read the question carefully you would be able to connect it to the right answer. Again, I'm basing this from my own personal experience.
The funny thing was it was hard to tell if I was getting my answers right. Just to let you know, I didn't follow my instinct. I really did lots of critical thinking.
I passed with 75 questions and I used Kaplan. However, I didn't use the decision tree at all. One last thing, for me Kaplan was way way harder than the real exam.

I guess it is better to bleed in practice , than fail the exam. Probably use Kaplan too.
