had interview at rj donavan today ! i was nervous initially but as the questions came i kinda got hold of my self and omg was it nerve racking! keeping fingers crossed!

thanks for replying.sorry,i was writing in texting language.my bad!i have not interviewed yet.they sent me 3 letterss from 3 different jails in california to find out if am intrested in working in any of them,but the closest one to me is offering fulltime limited term,am not sure what this means,if its limited then how long is it usually?can i be easily offered a fulltime after i get my foot in the door or will they just let me go when they feel necesary.thanks

hi guys am so glad i found this thread,hw i love this website.its been my one true guide.i have been looking at correctional nursing,i actually applied on line 2 weeks ago for rn position.i hv received 3 letters of employment enquiry but 2 of them are far frm san siego were i live.one is in soledad about 50mins away from me.but it says full time temporary,what does this mean,is it k to accept first then later b offered full time in d same jail,cos i dont want to move family closer to my job and end up been terminated of moved to another far jail,pls help me understand guys,i am really hoping i get a job in donavan but i have not got any letter from there,is ther a limit to how many emplyment enquiries you get?do the get pissed and not send u any more? wat are my chances of been hired? i have 3years experience outside u.s and almost on year psych experience in san diego,i work in a locked unit.thanks for replies,guys,thanks:crying2:

hey am glad to read from someone in san diego,i am intrested in paradise valley too,i will be going thursday to put in an application.i have 6months experience working in ltc psych.i think the pay is k for a start especially in this rough economy,i reaaly need the experience in acute care and also i need good hours to b able to spend time with hubby and son as the ltc hours of 4-2-4-2 is killing me,i hope i get in,its just kida hard when you dont know anybody working there

i work in a ltc,its not what i want but what can i do,am even so greatful to God for the job cos it sure pays the rent,d pay is not that great $28/hr nd san diego is so expensive but its better than nothing.i have 6moths experience now and i hope that it counts for something after a year,i have read about folks on here having serious difficulty transitting to acute care.so i have enrolled in a refresher course to start january so hopefully this may market me better

am in san diego.startd me at $28.after 3months $30.i had to go to a ltc to find work.its not what i want but it sdure pays rent.plus i get overtime often so got to do what i have to do

hi all, thanks for all your threads and replys,i have been stalking this site for long.ok this is my situation.graduated 6yrs ago outside u.s,had 2yrs medsurge experience b4 coming to the u.s.took and passed nclex,after all the hard work stuyding and joy of passing,its just so hard to get a job! been putting out allpication to no avail for 4months now,i realy would like a hospital medsurge position for a year and switch to hospice or psych.then i got hired for a per diem shift and they have said they will train me.ithis is hat they have offered to pay $45/hour,$75 admission,is this fai?does any one think its too much and maybe tricky?am just worried and wondering if i should thread carefully. thanks alot

thanks so much for the encouragement! its just so hard for most of us new grad,i think nursing is about sacrifices too,if we sarifice our joy and peace and time working in feilds we did not intend to and still put in our best as we would if we were where we wanted then that is truely the spirit!

i am so glad i came across your post.am a new grad too.i just got an offer in hospice,besides the fact that it intrests me what i want to do,i have followed countless advice and gone on to apply to new grad programes but to no avail,i have countless bills and cant just sit at home anymore waiting for new grad openings in hospital.i wish i found one i'd go for it but i guess with the hiring frezzes more of us new grads are finding ourselves in places we never thoght we would be.

i am a beliver in kaplan,i graduated nursing school 6yrs ago and in africa of all places! i studied using kaplan for strategies and lippincott manual for nursing practice for content and i felt the kaplan book for content and vedios helped alot too.i passed nclex first try,75questions and even thot i failed cos kaplan kinda over prepares you for the real nclex exam,it may sound rediculous but i felt it was easy.

PLEASE GO START ANOTHER THREAD THAT SAYS........'THE PEARSON VUE WEB TRICK DOES NOT WORK' and am sure people will read it and get to understand your point! hey guys what do you all think,is it a good idea for her to start her own thread with this topic or no? and i personnally think if she decides to remain her and spread negativity,we should all ignore her posts,when she gets her result she is gonna get occupied looking for a job or studing again for nclex right?

2BRICHIELPN08,i never said i passed cos of the trick,i passed cos i studied and kept faith in my GOD,and just incase you have issues with understanding written english,i dOnt think anyboy here has said they passed cos of the trick,it only helps to ease the stress of waiting and as some lady in this thread said it helped her study before the letter of failure came in the mail.again i repeat THE TRICK HELPED KEEP MY SANITY! now that i passed! oh sure, experience is the best teacher! i dont understand why you are still coming to this thread,u should go somewhere else,call the boards,encourage other pple in other threads and stop spreading venom here cos you where allowed to re-register for the exam,to be honest your anger and venom scares me,u just so consistent with it.i really hope u pass!
