Hello Fellow New Grads, I graduated May 2009, pass NCLEX June. I have BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, PHN certifications. I'm still unemployed. I have submitted 100's of applications and no success. The term "New Grad" seems as if it's a Taboo. I have read employment ads that stated "New Grads need not apply, Experienced nurses needed." Now I'm not considered a new grad because I have been out of school for almost a year. Am I the only one experiencing this? How many have graduated 2009 and considering a job other than nursing to pay the bills?

Does anyone know how much a New Grad RN salary/hourly in LTC facility in California?

I took the NCLEX on 7/23/09. I found out today when my mom called me and told me that I had a letter from the CA BON. I was so excited and scared. I asked her to read it to me and she said YOU PASSED, YOU PASSED! I was really surprise how fast I received the results 8 days after taking the test. I also tried the Pearson trick a few hours after taking the test and I could not register. It referred me to the CA BON. So it does work. This was also accomplished through alot of prayers. Positive Vibes going out to everyone taking the NCLEX. You will be Successful!!

How long after taking the Kaplan course should I take the NCLEX-RN. I will take the Kaplan course in April. The course is 2 weeks. How long should I study the Q-banks and text information from Kaplan before I schedule the NCLEX-RN.
