Kaplan Scores

Hi,

I take my NCLEX about a month from now and I am worried about my Kaplan scores. I have taken question trainers 1-4 and they have been going down, so I am getting scared.

My readiness test score is a 57.

My question trainers scores:

1. 63

2. 74

3. 54

4. 57

I read in their coursebook that they want question trainers 4 and 5 to be above 65 percent, and I am nowhere near that :(

Any advice? I feel like I am a bit confused with their decision tree and how they arrive at some of their answers.

I would do the QBank some more. Your scores are a little low but you still have an 87 percent chance if passing based in your readiness test. I did Kaplan as well and thought their questions were harder then the nclex questions.

Thanks! I know I need to practice more but studying is very frustrating to me! I just need to figure out exactly how to use the decision tree to get the correct answers

I had that problem with some of their answers too. I feel like the more I do the more I get it. Not sure if thats helpful. But I would not focus on those scores. Use those tests to see where you are weak and get in a little content review. Good luck!

Hi. I did the Kaplan review before took my test yesterday. Try to focus on the rationales of each question. I scored twice in the 50s on the question trainers and 60 and above on the rest. Keep on quizzing yourself. I didn't really use the decision tree because it was confusing. I find choosing the assessment over intervention worked in most cases unless it was an emergency or the patient has been assessed in the question. The 35 page study guide on this site was helpful. By the way the computer cut off after my 75th question & I did the pvt & got the "good pop up." Waiting on my official results. Good luck

I didn't use the decision tree either on the nclex. I pretty much tried to figure out what I needed to do. Asses or Implement. Then read the answers and see what kind of information you'll get if you assessed.

Hi again you guys,

So I take my test on Monday, and these are my scores from Kaplan

Question Trainer#

5: 64

6: 66

7: 70

I also took the NCLEX sample tests provided by Kaplan on the Question Bank:

1: 52

2: 62

3: 77

4: 30

4 was the SATA one! That was a killer! :(

The nerves has also just hit me today. Any tips before going in?

I took nclex wed, got in the mid 50's on either 4 or 5 I can't remember which maybe both, those first 5 don't count for much because they are not critical thinking and the last 2 are (6 & 7). Focus on the Qbank, my scores were very good after finishing the whole Qbank, take the practice sample tests as well. I just passed in 75 ques wed, with scores in the mid 50's on these 2 (can't remember exact score). I wouldn't worry about it too much.
