Published

Has anyone heard word they've been accepted to Kaplan's ADN program in San Diego for the Jan 2010 start? Just found out today that I'm in! Looking forward to hearing from future classmates!

Tinker, if you are already an LVN then you would apply for the Bridge program.

Yes, that's what I am doing. I have a friend that got in last year for bridge program but she didn't have any classes done and got in. I am just worried about them not taking me because I have too much done. So anyway I am still going to find out more info on Monday.

I don't think that your having classes done has anything to do with getting in. If you are worried about it, turn in your transfer courses after you are accepted. You have until the day before class starts to transfer courses.

O.....thanks for the tip..

I've also heard others say in previous threads that they would not be accepted if they'd done most of their pre-reqs, but as I am starting in two weeks I know that just isn't the case. It may have once been an admissions tactic to get you to take another course there so you'd get alumni points. The only pre-req class I will be taking is a & p I since they credited my physio class. I'm already going to start the core nursing classes and will be going to clinicals this semester. I'm sure you have an excellent chance of getting in, especially the bridge program, since you are already an LVN and have a good TEAS score

Alright, so I went to Kaplan today to get more information for LVN step up to RN. The program has been changed to 20 months instead of 16 months..whew..That means I won't graduate til Jan 2012... if I start in May..I hope I can hang..that's if I even get in.. As stated before the teas test is only supposed to be Taken 3 times..ever! So they say they usually only take 10 -15 lvns per new class..its more competitive more so for everyone that does not have their LVN..they are usually competing against 150 people..wow..anyhow that's just what I was told today. Let's see what my chances are..they say my scores are really good..so we shall see in April.

They told me the same too, that they usually get 150 applicants and it is super competitive. Honestly, I didn't have a fantastic TEAS. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I didn't think I'd get in. I got an 81% only. If you start in May, you will be with me for clinicals. I start clinicals in May. I am doing my Science starting next week for my first semester.

It would be great to start in May! Crossing my fingers!

Hey Emily when is your projected graduation date?
