Someone other than my original counselor called me. She was not MY counselor, but I know she is a Nursing counselor. I remember meeting her when I took my TEAS.

I wouldn't worry because I was told that I'd be notified either way, yes or no so maybe they didn't get around to calling you yet. There was over 130 applicants.

Emilynn09 I'm excited that we'll be starting the program together! Now I just have to worry about getting my physical done and getting my BLS certification before the Jan 6 orientation date. Ricerocket I wouldn't worry, I'm sure they're just working their way down the list. I know for sure that there are 8 alternates in addition to the 50 they accepted.

My counselor had me do all that before november 20, as part of my application packet, except I don't recall what the "BLS Certification" is. What is that?

It's your CPR certification. It's called BLS for healthcare providers and is certified by the American Heart Association. I don't know if it matters if you just have your CPR card or if you need BLS but I figure I'll just do BLS since you'll need it as an RN

Oh I see. I already had a healthcare provider CPR card at the time of application. I guess I just never knew it was also called BLS. I wonder what they will go over at orientation?

Is there anyone out there that will be starting the program who is in the Oceanside area and willing to carpool? It's quite a haul and would be better with two or more in the car! :)

Wish you lived south instead of north! I've got a pretty far drive as well! I live in Eastlake...so even taking the toll road it's still about 40 minutes! In regards to orientation, I was told we get our schedules that night which will be nice so we can plan our lives around school! I took the CNA course at Kaplan and orientation pretty much consisted of a livescan, trying on scrubs, filing out paperwork, and meeting the DON...so I'm guessing it will be pretty similar?
