Kaplan Readiness test results...

Updated:   Published

so I got a 58% on the Kaplan readiness exam and I'm not too happy about it. I heard a 65% is passing. What does a 58% equal out to for the NCLEX? I heard there is like a scale where it will tell you your probability of passing... so far I've taken three question trainers and they were:

#1 48

#2 56

#3 53

I havent taken 4,5,6 and 7 yet but I have finished almost every question on the qbank and have been mostly in the middle 50's my highest was a 60.

I am retesting on the 17th and I pray I pass this time! I failed 75 questions the first time and did horrible.

I spent a lot of time but since I have a 2 year old it was harder for me to find the time. I spent prob 4 days/week 4-5 hours each day studying. I took it in April and I think I stopped at 140...

Thanks LRC, that was helpful. I like when people post the number of questions too. Quite a few of my classmates claim they got only 75 and passed and there are a couple people I don't believe.

HELP! I took my diagnostic and got a 60%. I have only taken QT1-3 averaging 48% to 55%. I have been doing Qbanks and averaging 50%. When should I take the Readiness test? Part of me really wants to get my Kaplan done so that my school will release my transcripts and I can then schedule my NCLEX.

60% on your diagnostic? Well that is way better then me. I got 45.6% and I took it today. I feel like Kaplan isn't for me. I thought there would be more content. I am disappointed and totally freaking out.

I have to figure out another plan because I am not going to learn what I need to from Kaplan and it was a huge waste of money.

Anyone have suggestions? I have Saunders but it is like an outline of everything and very hard to read. I need to start fresh and I am freaking out. Please help.

Try Hurst online review. It's $300 but soooo worth it if you need content! I'm using it in addition to Kaplan (Kaplan was already paid for by my school and used throughout my program). Hurst has strenghtened my content and improved my Kaplan scores which are in the 60s. I still have a few weeks left of studying before my test, but I would definitely recommend Hurst in addition to Kaplan Qbank and Qtrainers, the Lacharity PDA book, and the all nurses inspired study guide that's floating around here. Good luck.

when I took the nclex all I did to prepare myself was do kaplan questions and i think that was plenty. I was getting mid-50's and I passed the NCLEX with 75 questions so I think you are there. Just really read the rationale and understand test taking strategies that kaplan tries to teach us.

Did u end up passing?

I got a 61% on the Kaplan readiness test and passed the NCLEX in 75 questions. I might add though, it took me 2 hours and 15 minutes to do 75 questions meaning i took my time answering correctly rather than hoping to get to 265. I took a risk of taking my time on each question because going that slow i probably wouldn't have finished in time. But that method worked and I'm a Registered Nurse: D

I take my NCLEX on the 18th and its the 14th. I've been using Saunders 7th edition, Passpoint, ReMar, and Mark K to study content and practice Q's. Tonight I took my first Kaplan readiness practice exam and I received a 60% on it. I see where I went wrong by changing my answers and some were just drag and drop and SATA that got me. Im feeling a bit nervous about my exam coming up, any tips or words of encouragement? Is a 60% a bad score for my first Kaplan exam?
