Kaplan Online ADN - South FL

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi Everyone,

I would like to know if anyone is currently in the online adn program at the south fl Kaplan campus? I have read quite a bit about it on the forum, but when I try to call or use the chat through Kaplan, no one seems to have any information on it. I would like to know what the program is like and if anyone knows when the next start date is, as well as how to contact someone about the program. Thanks for any help!

Sorry to hear that things doesn't sound like it's going well. It is unfortunate and NOT a cheap education at KU. I do hope that does change asap for new and incoming students such as my self.

How do you feel about taking the NCLEX - are you prepared? And what do you mean by cramming 2 years of missing curriculum into 10 weeks? What were you learning or what were they teaching all this time? Again hope this all changes for better and really in the end you gain the education needed to be a successful nurse.

On another note, if you complete your BSN at Kaplan which is nationally accredited (CCNE) and you can, then, transfer to just about any school and state

Good luck!

That is true, but who wants to spend another 30k for a RN-BSN program

I agree with you. I wouldn't give Kaplan another red cent, even if the world was going to end. I would do great harm to myself before I ever think about continuting with Kaplan on any level. Once this nightmare is over I am going another avenue. I dont care If I have to pay for and repeat the same pre reqs at another school. I wont be pursuing anything further with them .

I have been in this program for a year now & would not reccomend it to my worst enemy! We just got a new chairman and so far its been a living nightmare. He changes things in the middle of the semester such as grading scale, clinical days, and lab hours. Sometimes we only get a few days notice. He also even extended this semester & said that we might even have to sit out a semester due to not having a clinical site for us. He never answers his phone or respond to any emails. The nursing department, dean, and president are in Chicago and won't respond to students ethier. On top of all that you are paying 30,000 + for a school that is not accrediated and only has a 50% pass rate. I joned this program because it was marketed as an ADN program for people who work full-time & have a family. Well now that has even changed and we are also required to go to labs on the week days now. We are also making up hour because some how they are just finding out that ther student were graduating with not enough hours. Some students that graduated are not allowed to take the nclex because they are missing 200 + hours that they now have to go back and make-up. Also, some clinical site next semester maybe only be offered on week day. A lot of people have been dropping out of this program lie flies do to the recent last minute changes that occured in the last two months. This has caused me and other students a lot of stress that I won't even go into!

hi can you please send me the powerepoint to [email protected] to see how it works please I know this email is old but I just need more info on it

So Kaplan's NCLEX passing rate is down to 29.41%!!!!!! I'm torn between dropping out of this crappy school or just finishing it and pay out of pocket for my own review classes. Are there any other current students out there and how do you feel about this?

When did you hear this? I just recently herd that 5 out of 5 people passed??? How far along are you?

This is what is on the FL state board of nursing website http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/nursing/info_RegN_Jan-March11.pdf maybe it hasn't updated yet, but I didnt hear that 5 out of 5 people passed. In the class that recently graduated none of them has taken the NCLEX yet, and the class before that there are people who still have not taken the NCLEX.

Has anyone heard about the online program for AND that the clinicals are done in Puerto Rico? I've also heard about that school but haven't been able to find the info. If anyone has it, please let me know.

Thanks :)
