Hi Everyone,
I would like to know if anyone is currently in the online adn program at the south fl Kaplan campus? I have read quite a bit about it on the forum, but when I try to call or use the chat through Kaplan, no one seems to have any information on it. I would like to know what the program is like and if anyone knows when the next start date is, as well as how to contact someone about the program. Thanks for any help!

I talked to one of those online chat representatives and asked about it and she told me, and I quote "no so program exists and anyone who says they're in such a program at Kaplan is mistaken". I was like "WHAT????"
So, I cant find any info on it other than what Ive read on here
I am in the same boat, but I have read on here of students who are physically in the program. I can't figure out why Kaplan has no information on it though apparently! I was hoping someone who is going there would read this and be able to help some of us who might be interested in the program. It is very frustrating though!! I have a bachelor's degree in biology and I am trying to find the best way to become an RN so I was interested in finding out how long the program costs and when the next start date is!

I would go to the kaplan school in pembroke pines in person to find out the information.
I was looking for schools for a friend, and that is what a kaplan ADN student suggested. and I think that is a good suggestion.
im in northeast Fl (jacksonville) so it wouldn't matter for me anyways. I think its only the Miami area
Thanks for the suggestion. I called the pembroke campus today and was told someone would call me back and I haven't heard anything yet. Maybe they will call tomorrow. Is pembroke the campus that the program is housed out of? I live in central fl so it's a little bit of a ways to stop by if it's not the right campus! Thanks for the help though!

There is such a program. I know the the academic advisor at the Delray campus, if my mind serves me correct. Moreover, she states that not many people know about the program because it's on only 1 campus and she also stated it's APPROVED but not accredited. From my understanding it's an LPN to RN program not the traditional program for non-LPN students. Hope this helps!

hi.
this program does exist. below is an email that i recieved from the admission advisior for the nursing program when i was interested in information about the program.. they only admit twice a year once in april and again in september. i also have a power point slide that has it all mapped out. so if you tell me your email address i can send it to you. hope this helps
thank you for you interest in our associate of science in nursing degree program.
the program consists of a unique blend of online and face-to-face instruction. we have designed an interactive program that provides the flexibility of attending classes online, while also having the support of an instructor, to practice in a lab or clinical setting. your virtual classroom is available 24/7, but there are also structured time commitments for the clinical component, which are usually evenings and weekends. clinical rotations will be located at health care settings in broward, dade, and palm beach counties.
students are able to transfer previously earned college credit for most “core requirements, however nursing courses taken at other universities are not transferable.
the most important trait for nursing students is flexibility. this is also true after you graduate, pass the rn licensure exam and are practicing as an rn.
requirements prior to enrollment are:
a transcript of the student’s high school, showing a cumulative gpa of at least 2.5, and transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, with at least a 2.5 gpa or ged.
successful completion of a pre-admissions test, taken at a kaplan test prep center.

all books are included in tuition. there are no application fees, enrollment fees, registration fees, transfer-of-credit fees, orientation fees, graduation fees, etc. also included in tuition are services such as: online tutoring; 24/7 tech support; academic advising; frequent interaction with professors, and a college library catalog. tuition is $371 per credit. there is a $100 per quarter technology fee.
kaplan has been a recognized leader in education since 1937. in addition to our online university, we also own approximately 70 campus schools, with a total enrollment of more than 73,000. we are a wholly-owned subsidiary of the washington post.
we are now interviewing students for the september, 2010 term now. a total of 20 students will be accepted. if you are truly interested, i would be pleased to send you specifics regarding the pre-admissions test; a kaplan university application for enrollment; and a link to the u.s. department of education’s fafsa (free application for federal student aid) website.
thank you for your interest in kaplan university’s associate of science in the nursing program. i look forward to working with you to achieve your educational goals.
best regards,
dedicated to your success
Thanks so much for the information. Could you give me an email or phone number or something so that I can contact someone about it. When I call Kaplan I get the run around or someone telling me it doesn't exist. I would greatly appreciate it!!
