Kaplan college in San Diego RN program

Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.

Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!

Yes....I did get a call yesterday and why I mentioned that it seemed as though yesterdays calls were to those of us that do not have a spot for September. I'm still crossing fingers that the alternate list will get longer and maybe those of us that got the call yesterday, will get another call with better news, closer to time :-)

Yeah fingers crossed here too. My rep said I'm "looking good for january" but I don't take that all too heart that much:(.

Yeah, but I don't want to get my hopes up! Labor Day is still a LONG ways away:( Good thing I'm starting a new job so it'll be keeping me busy! I'm going to start thinking about other avenues though. Just so I'm not totally blindsided!

What are everyone's plans now? I guess I'll wait until the Labor Day results come out then go from there:(. I wish we would have found out sooner so I could have at least kept going with more classes at the Community College:(. All the classes I want r already closed or have a massive wait list.

Me personally- I will continue to study for TEAS, HESI2 and KTP to raise scores. It's hard not to be sad when we get a call saying that we did not get in for Sept:-( in the meantime, there are many courses that can be taken online (if anyone still needs Pre-reqs) if not.... Perhaps study ahead on A and P and Micro:-)

I do hope we will all be back here soon:-)

The only courses I "need" r a&p 2 and micro. Maybe I could take an English or some non science courses required of a bachelors? I need to do something that's for sure:(. I can't just sit ad wait and wait some more just to be denied again! Haha.

I know the feeling. I took A and P I and II and completed all GE's through a Bachelors, so I only need micro at this time. Still never hurts to go back and review :-)

That's true! I think I've been stressing so much about this, it almost doesn't feel real. And I almost wish they wouldn't hang a carrot in front of us with the possible January acceptance. It's comforting to still have that chance but it's going to be twice as crushing to get denied again:(. Think I should at least take a class or something......help keep me busy:). Hahaha
