Kaplan college in San Diego RN program

Published

Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.

Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!

Youre going to try again right?? One thing they "supposedly" look at is being a prior Kaplan grad. I don't know how much that actually matters. I'm trying to figure out why you wouldn't have got in with those scores. Those are both really good!

I am hoping to get in for January. My rep said that I was highly qualified and if I don't get in for either then she doesn't know what is going on.... Lets all stay positive!

I truly think that all spaces were filled with early acceptance!

The only "hope" I still have is...if they were filled by early acceptance (which is 100% possible) wouldn't the reps just say that's why people didn't get in? Instead of coming up with "lack of experience"??? and other crap? It's my only shred of hope! Hahaha

@alilovex3 are u a prior Kaplan grad?

I think they just say that so people take a program there. I just got my call saying I didn't get in. He said that the Director of Nursing HIGHLY recommends that I reapply for January. I asked what the point of that was since I didn't get picked for September and if the DON says that to everyone. He seemed taken off guard and said that "Well no, but she will pick early some people for early acceptance for January in a couple weeks." I don't know what to think, but hopefully January works out for me!

Yeah I took their NATP programBecause I didn't want to wait at the community colleges and to me it was worth it. The instructors were really helpful and I got a job a few weeks after passing the State test.

Shoot:(. Now I know I'm not getting in. Ugh. Now I just have to sit and wait for the confirmation.

Hopefully they pick us all for January! She should've already just picked who was going to to get accepted for January though. When did your rep tell you she was going to decide? Mine told me a "couple weeks" but I don't really take a lot of what he says very seriously.

They had to be filled with early acceptance. Is anyone going to try for January? I don't think there are going to be any alternates this time either. But if we didn't get in this time what would the chances for January look like? I don't think they should string us along if we don't have a good chance
