Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.
Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!
Hey everyone... I'm currently in the Kaplan ADN program. This is my last semester so only 6 weeks more to go!! I came in as an LVN so those who have questions regarding transition I can answer some questions. I also have some friends who were traditional so I can help out with those questions as well. Good luck and let me know if you guys have any questions
Hi Mrs. Brittain.
I got accepted for Septembers cohort for the LVN to RN program. Can you tell me what your first semester was like? And where you were for you clinical rotations. I was an LVN grad from Kaplan as well. I m praying for good clinical sites. Congrats on almost being done!!

Way to go! Congrats!! When and how did they contact you about your acceptance into the program? I am not sure if it's through paper mail, email or over the phone. I'm going straight to the RN program without previous LVN experience.
CupcakeB- the first semester was hectic. I had no prerequisites turned in so I had A&P1, micro,algebra,english,LVN-RN transition. There are no clinicals for the first semester. Second semester you're still finishing up your gen ed classes. Third & fourth semester is a breeze. Clincals for 8 weeks each semester. Fifth/sixth semester is when it gets crazy. There's sooooo many classes/clincials/volunteer hours/preceptor/ and Geri hours to do. I guess most 'transition' students fail during this last semester because we're so used to our schedules being so light
Unrealstylez- I can't remember exactly when I heard about the acceptance. I tested for everything in sept/oct and my start date was in Jan. I think I heard for sure right around Nov but this was Almost two years ago and there was no waiting list. You should contact your representative and ask when you should get the news so you can start preparing. Good luck
Unrealstylez- btw my rep told me over the phone that I got accepted very casually. I remember receiving something in the mail closer to the start date
That's the way the reps at Kaplan talk I guess. They seem very relaxed at the admission process compared to any other traditional school. I will find out if I get in by Thursday, Friday or next Monday. Congrats to you mrsbrittain for almost being done, finish strong!
