Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.
Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!
Hi! I am beginning the program in Sept. (20 months) since I have all the prereqs. My initial letter said my grad date was Sept but it is May. I am super excited and nervous about managing everything (work, kids, life) but I am sure it will be fine. As far as acceptance, it is more competitive than I imagined. I have a bachelor's and initially did not get 90s on my test but was urged to retake and got both in the 90s thankfully (math and reading)as writing isn't factored. That got me early acceptance. High 80s I was told should get you in, especially if you have experience and a degree or if you are a Kaplan grad. Anyway, hope that helps! Hope you guys find out soon!
Hello, I just took Ktp last June and I am so nervous. From what I am hearing, there is a very low chance of me getting in because sadly I did not score very competitively as the others who scored high 90's. I haven't even heard from my admin Rep if any of my credits have been transferred since I did the enrollment processed almost a month ago. Would that be another indication that I may not get in? Because from what I have been reading on this thread the ones who took their KTP got an email or mail about transfer credits two weeks after they have taken their KTP.
Does anyone remember what your rep said about working and going to school? I can't be 100% but I think mine told me that my schedule had to be cleared between 7a-7pm for them to place me in classes/clinical. Are you planning on working full or part time during school?
I think mine told me to be free between 7am-8pm because class could be at anytime. but I do plan to work I can't afford not to. I'm looking for a nocshift right now and I'm starting home health too.
