Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.
Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!
missellamae-How exciting for you!!! I hope that means it is just a formality for you :-)
One thing that is strange is a grad date of 9/2014? That's 24 months and you are coming in to the step up, so shouldn't it be more like 5/2014? give or take a couple of weeks for winter and spring break?
All my transcripts are in as well as wonderlic (did this morning), but I still need to take the KTP. My advisor told me that it is much harder than the packet that they provide for us to study.
Did you find this when you took the KTP?

Yes I definitely thought it was a weird thing..it's supposed to be only 20 months for me.
Well I found the packet and the test to be pretty straight forward as to what to study. My rep told me to really focus on decimals and fractions.
Good luck with the KTP! Just study the booklet they give you :)
Hi missellamae! Perhaps the letter was a mistake on the dates. I do recall having 2 weeks off for winter break and 1 week off each Spring. This added a month to our evening VN program. I don't know, but just thinking....if you start in September, you get 2 weeks off in December, then a week in March/April. That's 3 weeks plus you will go through another Winter and Spring break, adding an additional 3 weeks. So with no other holidays, that adds aprox. 6 weeks to grad date. So, instead of May could it be mid July? That is still not September '14 though.Have you talked with your rep about the letters?

No u should be good! They probably meant an interview with the DON...u won't be officially accepted without meeting with her. Just be yourself! She is wanting to meet all the students and get to know them.
